Definitely worth the wait I feel. I absolutely love my 2017. I was originally going to buy it after my lease, but the wife got intrigued by some of the upgrades for 2020 and gave me the approval, haha. So we will make an actual purchase for 2020 and hopefully keep it for a long long time.

I would find a different Dealer to work with, that manager must be a total freakin' dingbat as the Tacoma has been selling at a record pace and leads the midsized truck market by a mile, broke another sales record for the 1st half of this year.

I may do that. I was really thinking about pre-ordering, but it dawned on me last night that if I do that, I'm stuck with getting the truck (no biggie) and have no room to negotiate my current car's value (biggie).

I gave a deposit, but I have no trade, so I think I'm ok. Not sure how much negotiating will be happening on the 2020's

How much was your deposit? The dealers around me won't take anything until they actually know what they are getting

I gave $1,000 (refundable). I just want to be able to get one of the first TRD Pro's and maybe Army Green. I think they will be tough to get at first.

The dealer in Omaha wanted a deposit of $2k to preorder.

I am going through an old friend for a 2020 TRD Sport. I just got a text saying that my allocation has been placed. He said the truck will be made mid September and he expects it to be at the dealership mid October.

When will you be able to actually order it with 2020 specs and options?

According to what he sent me it has the 2020 specs and options that I am looking for. He wasn't able to tell me the MSRP for it yet but it is a TRD Sport Cement DCLB with LED headlights and other 2020 upgrades.

I was told allocation/production starts in Sep and they'll hit the lots in Oct and Nov. Waiting as well because they're out of allocations that I want for 2019...

Yes someone earlier said production starts 9/2. So the question is when can you actually order? I've heard 8/16

I think if you have the right guy you can start ordering now. He sent me the “window sticker” through e-mail as a pdf. I discussed what options I wanted with him about two weeks ago. So I would consider this my “order”.

Simply call Toyota 1-800 number and tell them you're waiting for a 2020 and they'll extend your lease no problem

My dealer said he can look out 45 days at their allocations and no 2020 Tacomas are coming their way.

    Maybe mid September though?

They should be in around September-October. That’s the meat of quarter four for car dealerships and when the 2020s should be in. It’s not always information dealership employees have on hand, a lot of it is over their heads. But instead of just saying that a lot of them will bull shit just to get a deposit.

This makes sense as I believe production is slated to start 9/2. Given 4 weeks average delivery, its would seem to be the beginning of October.

I'm working with a higher up at my local dealer through a work relationship. He's going to text me when I can order so I'll try to convey that back. Unfortunately were in SET so I think their dates might be different then the rest of the country. We'll see...
