Holy crap, that's expensive! lol Don't know much about that system. From what I know, Wicked Edge has the best guided system going right now. It's totally different from most other guided systems.

I sharpen by freehand only. Been doing it for over 30 years now, but I mainly use DMT diamond stones, Smith's steels and compound-loaded leather strops for finishing.

I can hand sharpen my axes, chisels, and planes like a boss. Knives I fail at I don't get what I am doing wrong. I like the idea of consistent edge sharpeners for a bozo like me it makes sharpening much more idiot proof.

Yeah the edge pro apex and the one I linked came out about the same time just from different sides of the globe. The wicked edge is relatively new but from what I have heard is pretty damn good.

To me, the heim joints are what sets the wicked edge apart from other systems. The WE system can go down to 26 degrees inclusive or 13 degrees per side. I don't know of any other system that can go that low. The WE just oozes quality and precision.

That's kinda why I like the one I linked it's far more precise than the edge pro. I'll have to look into the WE more I guess.

Nothing beats freehand. You can't lug a guided system in the woods with you if your blade goes dull. Freehand, you can sharpen anywhere in the world with any stone available. It's an often, very overlooked skill.

The Edge Pro is very similar to the system you posted, especially in the clamping. The WE has more increments of adjustment.

For freehand, DMT is the best. They have monochrystalline diamond matrices as opposed to the competitor's polychrystalline structure. In other words, polychrystalline fractures and loses its bite, when mono is a single edge diamond structure that holds its form longer. I'm still using a DMT sharpener I used when I was in the Army back in the late 90s if that says anything.

    Only the best.
No sir, i open doors and hold them for anybody. My wife loves it when i open her door for her. I try and be polite and kind to everyone no matter what. I was raised on a farm, i learned manners and wrong from right the hard way. I truly believe that is the best way and its how my daughters have learned as well. We are teaching them to have their own voice but to also be polite and kind to others, up to the point where they need to defend themselves.

All of those are CPKs, Carothers Performance Knives. Behemoth Chopper, Medium Chopper, Heavy Chopper and Heavy Duty Field Knife, from top to bottom. Made of D3V steel, the toughest, most abrasive resistant, knife steel on the market today. All other steels be damned, the only thing that rivals it is INFI, Busse's proprietary steel.

You can see the CPK Medium Chopper in action.

My wife on the History Channel's Knife or Death. I'll be on Season 3, which will hopefully air soon. She's the redneck blonde.

That's the way to do it Matt! You have to pass values on to the next generation, so that they may pass it on themselves!

I have a couple of Axes on order from the winner of Forged in Fire. One day they'll eventually get here. Little ol kid from the Mtns of NC. Liam Hoffman. He makes some pretty nice show piece type blades as well but they are few and far between.

I just use one of the pocket knives that takes the box cutters for that stuff. Keep the pocket knives for better things than dulling them on boxes.

Wife and I have been married now for 11 years this month. We’ve had separate banking accounts the entire time and it’s worked just fine. She has a duplicate of my debit card and a spare checkbook to my account in the event she needs anything. I make triple what she makes and anything she wants she gets. Plus we don’t ask each other if we can buy something. :)

Just use an excel spreadsheet, with a new tab for every month.

My wife is an accountant and it has worked for us for several years now. No need to spend $$ on software you probably have...

We have same sort of setup. I pay for 2015 Altima for my work travel vehicle and my Tacoma. She pays for the 2017 terrain that she loves and I don’t. It’s a gutless 4 cylinder. Sadly though, now my truck has to downshift twice to make it up hills where my 2015 second gen didn’t. Now I can’t make fun of hers anymore :(

As for other bills they’re all auto-drafted out of my account except insurance which is auto-drafted from hers. If she ever doesn’t have the money to cover her vehicle payment, which she pays online each month, she uses my account and lets me know. We never discuss bills. Everything is setup to auto draft except her car payment. If there’s ever a time she can’t pay something she uses my card or checkbook.
