hey guys just got the spindles and coilovers and i have everything apart and i just got my coils in.... now stupid is as stupid does.... i removed the lower ball joint castle nut like an idiot instead of just the two that connect the spindle.... now i cant get the nut back on without the ball joint spinning.... so i think im gonna cut a slit in the bottom of the bolt/threading for a screw driver so i can hold the ball joint in place while i torque that nut back on... oh and i did this on both sides of the truck.. I HATE MYSELF... anyways learn as u go. and im gettin it aligned thursday so goodluck to whoever that guy is. lol. btw this thing is gona bbe baddassss...

the fit for these is tapered, so clean the shaft of the ball joint and shove it in there. when its tight enough you will be able to properly torque the balljoint...

Yosh gave you the answer. If your not gonna cut a slit into the top of it, you need to make sure its fully seated. You may have to tap it with a hammer, or use an air gun.

also, look at the threads. a member here needed help with this. I went to his house and saw her hammered on the end of the balljoint to get it loose without a nut on it and fubared the threads.

if the threads are damaged you will need a die to clean them out or use a hacksaw blade or file to clean the threads.

Another thing is to clean the taper and where the taper seats from any grease. apply pressure so the friction between the two pieces helps keep from turning

ok im leading u the wrong way.... i took the castle nut off to remove the spindle attachment piece that isnt exactly part of the spindle but its what connects the spindle to the actuall lbj. and thats whats spinning.. yes its the lbj shaft but im not replacing the lowerballjoint

usually the lbj will only spin when you "break" it loose from the spindle

Air gun is the best way to go. Put as much pressure as you can and hit it with the gun and you're golden :D

Its supposed to spin by design. As long as the threads aren't damaged, you either have to spin the nut on really fast, such as with an air impact - or seat it back into position and apply pressure to stop it from spinning while you tighten by wrench/ratchet.

and by seating it back into position u mean tapping the end of the shaft up correct?

As in push it into place, and keep pushing once it stops - as in keeping pressure on it. Friction should hold it in place while you tighten the nut.

You are over analyzing something that isn't that difficult...

I've been there, I've done it, had the same problem. As long as your threads aren't facked, shove the darn thing in the hole and keep pressure on it while turning the nut. Its a tapered seat and will hold if the threads aren't screwed.
