This is just for tracking bills and keeping up with expenses. You can easily add a line for investments, but most are on auto withdrawal anyway.

I don’t even open a computer. Haven’t in few years now. Budgeting is fine and helpful when you’re pushing your finances to higher limits of income. I know what we make since we’re both salary and stay way under our income for bills. Rest of the money goes to whatever and still keep a minimum in my accounts at all times. If ever fall below that minimum then we just slow down on larger purchases for a bit.

I’m hoping my gf makes triple what I make when she graduates vet school. :fingerscrossed: She’ll probably be my wife before then of course.

Also, that last part. That’s what I want to keep. I went and looked at 2 4runners recently and honestly it took me a bit to tell her bc I didn’t know how she’d take it. Honestly she didn’t care. Of course if we plan to get married she will start to consider my spending habits as no one wants to marry into a financial crisis.

I’m cheap, she’s cheap also, which is crazy considering she’s grown up in Vestavia Hills.

Yeah hard to imagine anyone from there who even knows what cheap means.

My wife and I have been together long enough to know each other’s habits. Spending isn’t an issue for either of us.

I also wish my wife made triple what I make. I would have zero problems with that at all!!!

    Cool.

I guess you don't need financial software suggestions either...

Just out of curiosity, how are you posting on an internet based bulletin board? :notsure:

Is that considered a small had held computer that can make phone calls? Just asking. :)

Not picking on you personally but financial solutions and software always made me laugh. Dave Ramsay’s stuff is ‘supposed’ to be top notch on how to save and budget money. People at work were given all his information/classes for free. At end of the seminars and 6 months to a year later, zero had over $1,000 in their account and still lived check to check. It’s not the software, it’s the person.

Not in my book but to each their own I guess. The capabilities of a smart phone rival the capabilities of a computer without a doubt. Computers will always (I say this now in 2019) have their place and purpose and usefulness but typical everyday needs can mostly be handled through our smart phones now.

I'm aware of that and didn't make that suggestion, although his debt snowball plan ad advise have helped many.

Don't worry about picking on me, I have thick skin.

Have to be careful, some folks today are often quite sensitive! Especially the internet warriors.

If she triples my salary and my side business I’d work for her at a vet clinic lol, doing all the behind the scenes what not.

Also I don’t mind work, it’s actually an issue we’ve got in a fight about. Most weekends I have stacked with jobs through out the week for garage doors. I’m trying to retire early.

I will say I know people who make well enough to not be in debt, I know a lot of people’s salaries I work with. I see the ones who are new and are doing the best, skipping lunch not taking the 30 min break for those who are hourly, busting butt, and bought houses etc.

Then I see those with 4 kids and a stay at home wife bc that many kids and the guy still eats out and spends a lot. Says his ac has to be on 70-72 all the time. Wonders why all my utilities and internet combined are less than $200

Wonders how I do what I do. It’s person to person and sometimes the amount of money a person makes doesn’t help them achieve any more financial stability.

All the places around me quoted $2200 installed new so I thought the price is fair but I’m negotiable.
