may I suggest water wetter from redline? this stuff works. you're in the situation to get some real data from it.15650629784603734117660594254238.jpg even if you got half of what they quote that would be a huge impact

And here I am trying to get coolant temps higher because they get surprisingly close to when my thermostat opens and closes :anonymous:

Most likely. On my way back home this year, going up the 40 just past needles. I want to say it was around 116 degrees, maybe hotter out. Truck was loaded down, and I was hauling ASS up the hills. I want to say the engine was around 208, but it didn't go much higher if at all. The transmission on the other hand went up to 250-260. I dropped it into 4th at a lil over 3k rpms and that dropped the trans down to 210. I am also pretty sure that trans temp is coming from the converter not the pan. Only issue I had was a P015b code being thrown, but it seems to have disappeared now so I am just going to pretend it was a fluke and act surprised when it pops up again.

Yeah, the converter is a known heat source. You can get lock up switch kits from WAT that go with their valve bodies. You can manually lock up the converter to reduce slippage and reduce temperatures. You can also eek out another 10% fuel economy. Maybe the HPtuners group can get close to this these days.

realistically I am going to have to wait on something like that. I don't mind dropping it into 4th. I am on 34" tires on stock gearing, and trying to go up at steep grade at 95 MPH (IN MEXICO) when it's 115+ is kind of assholeish in 5th gear.
But my current mod list is looking like new tensioner, lightweight pullies, hp tuners, and maybe cams depending on how people like theirs when they get them.

Probably 295’s from a standard manufacturer or 315’s from BFG (still only a 34”)

295’s from BFG we’re ok for me on stock gearing. 315’s from toyo and I was NOT happy with stock gears.

im running 315's and did regear to 4.56 wish I went 4.88. It would be horrible on stock gearing can't wait to see what the SC does to it.
