It was more expensive but bought it anyway ... pulling the old insert out (where the garnish goes) was a pain but I’m satisfied with the result none the less.

    None yet, several planned
I did get it off of Ebay. Came packaged in Toyota packaging with the correct part number on it. Assuming it is genuine. Have had no issues yet.

For the guys who bought the grill from eBay, where are you getting the $50-$60 ones? All the ones I see in that range do not come with the letters. So it's just a gaping hole in the middle? Am I missing something?

They have to do that for copyright/trademark purposes.. they will ship the letters in a different package on a different day lol

Yea, I figured as much. Now the issue is trying to find an OEM garnish for a reasonable price because now everyone on eBay want $100+ for them because of what Toyota did.

I didn't want to take the risk of not actually getting the letters so I had to look else where for the grill.

So there's no way to get a custom 2019 grill without that ugly box on the bottom and weird plexiglass square?

I don't think so just do to the fact that your sensor (radar) would not work correctly.

can't I just disable the entire system? I want an aftermarket grill, but hate the look of that plastic box!

I do not think you can since this is part of the Toyota Safety Sense thing? I'm pretty new to this myself, but I thought there was that bulletin or something where dealers would turn the system off for a recall or something but I'm pretty sure it comes back on at the next drive cycle. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

Belay my last... I didn't fully read the thread but there is this:

yeah I got that TSB letter about water getting in. If anyone has got the entire system turned off, so no error light can come on, let us know!

Got mine fixed today. New sensor has the 3 little holes & no sticky pad. They already did the software flash last week when I was there so only took an hour

    Man, you guys are lucky!
I got my 2019 Tacoma (Off Road Premium) taken care of from the dealer for that recall. So, I decided Id finally put in my $100 Pro grill and $56 TRD Pro Grill Garnish 53141-35060. Seems easy to install....but my truck keeps yelling at me with all sorts of warnings!

    Yaaa......lucky me.....

Drive it around for a week or 2 it will go away. The sensor needs to recalibrate...

You can use the ebay grille and mount the sensor without the ugly box. I have it on my 2018 with no problems....

nah I just don't want a non-overrideable system that slams on the brakes.

I've been messing with tech stream for a month and can't get the ECU to turn off PCS!
