Water on driver floor

I’ve noticed water on my driver side floor for quite sometime now after it rains or even snow. I didn’t think much if it and usually noticed when driving or parking and just assumed it was me tracking water in with my shoes. I finally noticed it’s there before I get in. I looked at it when it was raining and it seems like the water is running down the wire from the ditch light and going through the firewall. Anyone else get this? I put a towel under the hood mount the ditch light is installed and haven’t noticed water since.

 

I have the same problem with my 2019 Off-road. It’s minor but present.

 

3rd brake light? Or maybe you’re missing one of the plugs under the Cab

 

It’s driver side front mat that is wet. Appears to be coming down the wire from ditch light and through the firewall.

 

Wait why post a thread then? You know where it’s coming from. Put some silicone around the hole and plug it.

 

Seeing if anyone else had that issue and if there was a a different way I was supposed to rub wire instead of just globbing silicone

 

GL luck with it , wet carpet sucks .

 

Ya been getting wet for about a year too. Hoping it hasn’t created other issues...

 

Out of warranty I guess.

 

Do you have a roof rack? Either way check the roof rack mounts holes. Had an issue with water coming through the rack mount holes in my 2nd gen, soaked my carpets

 

I’m assuming once they see all the wires I’ve added going through the firewall they will say they won’t cover it. Didn’t feel like paying the hourly rate for them to tell me that. Haha

 

Ok I will look. No roof rack but I will definitely look.

 

I just globbed silicone where the wires went through with my lights and other electrics. All good since

Yeah, next time loop the wire under the hood....., then go thru the rubber plug with a very fine hole...

 

FYI- typically called a drip loop. Water runs down the wire then drips off it, instead of following the wire into your cab, house, cable box or whatever.

It’s more effective then silicone, however, both together make for great water resistance. IF that is the culprit.
