The extender does say Ram. I am asking about the piece that is mounted to the dash.

Dashtop multi mount with a tack form spring loaded mount.

The goal here was to be as sleek and minimal as possible while being more secure than an adhesive or magnet:

Also - if you are looking to use a wireless charger phone holder - I found most of them use a 17mm ball. Akron sells a 1” (25mm) to 17mm ball adapter that allows more options for products that’ll work with the dash mount & ram system.

I just bought this one on Amazon. Great reviews and the adjustable arm length is exactly what I needed. And I did not like the idea of using 3M sticky on the dash and this uses a gel-like. We shall see how it works!

Dashtop Single Mount from the Taco Garage and Mob Armor mount. I like the DSM but the Mob Armor is huge. My phone hooks up wirelessly to my head unit so sometimes it stays in my pocket. And that mount is an eyesore. So I ordered the TacForm mount.

I just purchased this same setup but with a dsm. Its solid and made very well but this spring is really stiff. There is no way I can insert the phone with only 1 hand. I hope it loosens up a bit.

I don’t have the manual transmission so I just put my phone down in the cup holder and learn my way around the old fashioned way without a GPS.

BTW the GPS in the headunit is garbage. I presume you know that by now.

Yeah, it was stiff for me at first. A little bit of wd40 and probably several hundred rapid opening and closing of the clamp (while off the DMM) loosened up the springs somewhat.

I’m able to slide my phone in and out of the mount one handed without the mount moving. Also can try rotating the clamp to open the opposite direction of whatever you’re doing now. I think I’ve got mine set up so it slides open to the left, towards the wheel.

Like I said earlier in the thread. I bought this. Have had it for two weeks and I love it. Didn’t need to add a 3M sticker on it or anything. Holds still even through the harshest roads. I have an iPhone X.

If it is just for a phone, the simpler the better. but what is a most for me is to hide the power cable as much as possible.

The simplest option is sometimes the best. This magnetic etsy mount was less than $20 (including shipping) and holds my phone, plus the added weight of the battery pack, solidly in place. I haven't tried it out in any rough terrain, but I do 90% of my driving on the roads so I'm not too concerned about it.

    Ordered one of these. https://getspiegel.com/

Hopefully itll be everything I'm looking for. I'm tired of the big clunky mounts and I really want wireless charging incorporated. Will update once it comes in
