In the process of remodeling the garage, I decided to use the leftover 1x3’s to create a “plank wall”. Gonna either stain or paint it, but looks much better than the frame with insulation poking out!

I started tracing, scanning, and importing the traces of my pro grill letters so I can start the CAD layout and modeling of some custom letters/emblems...does that count? Solidworks soon...mayhaps.

Couldn't think of a better way to get the design/shape into CAD, just traced them and I'll pull dimensions and clean them up next. Gotta get the screw hole layout and grid pattern layout off main grill for the notches though, ugh.

That's the way you are supposed to do it. Just check the end measurements.

I'm taking Fusion 360 classes now.

Haha I think I got this batch handled!
I don't know anything about epoxy yet... There's a TON of it over on Instagram though.... If those people can make epoxy water fall tables and such I'm sure you can find some ideas/answers.

Then you can share them with me!
I'm going to have to start buying the gallon jugs. I bought a micro jig today instead and that is the most wonderful thing ever for my table saw.

2 part Epoxy will cover any seams. It will go down curves very easily. You do about 1/16" to 1/8" thick at a time.

Get Tyvek tape at HD by the building supplies. They likely won't know what it is so you will have to find it. The epoxy won't stick to the back of it, anything else will.

Elevate the flag with some wood blocks and make sure you are 100% level. Use a plastic spreader to spread the epoxy around.

After a minute you will see bubbles form. Use a butane torch to pop the bubbles. I still need to make legs for this one.

You can sand with 200g, clean and pour a thinner layer on top. No need to polish.

i had a brainstorm last night...so basically I need to make a mold of the piece i want to duplicate, once I have the mold i pour the epoxy resin to the desired thickness then take it out of the mold. ;) sand and finish as needed...
