The mounting brackets look pretty sketchy to support the weight of a truck...

Chan had the same concern. They're 3/16 steel and fully welded. Once they're on I need to demo them with a hi-lift. If Randy doesn't like them, or they flex too much, then they're off no problem. I don't want Randy to be unhappy or uncomfortable. I'll still appreciate him letting me install them to complete my video project with them, but hopefully he likes them once they're on.

With that said, they're like an "overlander" style slider. For example, have you really used your sliders? Banging on rocks where you drop off a boulder and the entire weight of the truck comes down on the slider? For that absolutely have fully boxed arms. But to scrape up against a rock, or use a hi-lift for a flat tire, or a mild hi-center on some rocks these will hold up just fine.

Yeah... I totally get it. I doubt I will ever really use my sliders to their full capacity. Randy is a lot like me... The sliders are mainly there for added protection in the event I get into something a bit over my head. I'm not a real "rock crawler" hound and I don't get the impression @Norsemanvike is either.

That's cute. 3/16" for the mounting plate that covers very little surface area?

I understand what you're saying. These will work for you shopping cart or added security on the trails just fine, but for $900!?!?!?! :puke:

Haha yeah, definitely not for $900. Lot's of better options at that price point!

Yup. When I asked them about it, they said the cost of steel increase and the cost to have them made in Canada and then the fees to get them across the border and blah blah blah.

They're a two piece slider to make them easier to ship. Has a big slip fitting where they meet in the middle to lock them in so they're solid and as you see there, they're then bolted together.

Do you work for that company now? Or are you just getting a hookup on the sliders for a video for autoanything?
