I had been debating it for a good year or so now. Glad I finally did it because it was way worth it.

nice, i went back and forth on 12" or 14" shocks. went with 12" due to some possible separation with 14". im stoked but sometimes I wish I just went the 14" and called it a day @zscott and a few others helped give some of their insights but stuck with 12" since its a maxed out MT setup. If I go +2 later on ill adjust but prob would go bigger in the rear.

What are everyone's thoughts on cooling for the SC itself? Would a larger cooler for it make any difference on keeping the rest of the components cooler?

Let me find the specs. I got it from CSF to try out for our trucks after the success they achieved with the radiator (wonder who made that work) :D.

Right now I have also bypassed the radiator so the trans cooler is the only thing keeping the trans cool.
The thermostat is a Derale unit factory set to 180°. I havent done any real loading of the trans (no mountains in Wichita Falls) but trans temps have been about 165 to 170 just around town.
I will probably route the fluid through the radiator again for safety sake but I wanted to get rid of as many extra lines and brackets as possible.
Currently the only potential problem I forsee is when it would be colder out. Right now in summer my Efan is running with the ac which keeps the trans cooler cool. In cooler temps where ac is not needed the fan wont run as fast so sitting in traffic could cause temps to rise. Routing the trans fluid through the radiator will alleviate this potential issue.

    Here are some preliminary pics.

    20190802_024905.jpg
Its mounted to the cross brace.
    20190802_165204.jpg
Homemade bracket holding the Derale thermostat.
Routing is trans out, thermostat, cooler, thermostat return, trans in.
    20180917_164626.jpg
The cooler is expensive $350! But it is built like a tank! It is made to be in front and handle rocks and such. It weighs probably 4lbs!

I have a little spal pusher fan on my external trans cooler. Seems like you could add something like that to this one in the future if needed.

I was thinking that too and then tapping into the main fan controller so it would run relative to my main fan.

I run one and will continue to do so.

The front mount intercooler (FMIC) is fine for us. The limiting factor is the one in the sc.
Even that little thing is impressive. I have seen over a 60° temp difference low-post intercooler.

ha yah I have had one in my garage for past 6 months I thought about adding pre SC just never got around to it. Was thinking about adding a nicer one since it seems more important for the SC but its not included initially so theres that.

Cheapy Amazon model. I modded it internally for better filtration. Total of $30.

My catch can was expensive like @ThomasMore66 's Figgs. Works like a champ, and easy to drain though. Hard to complain about the quality.
