Two years on a forum and posting in a thread about Fords  Which to be honest in the Ford forum I frequent there’s scarcely a mention of other brands or numerous threads started like...talk me out of a Ford, or I had enough and traded my Tacoma etc... TW is truly a unique place.

Probably because of no trolls in ford forum like here. Taco owners have better things to do with their time.
And also lack of number of posts/members/interest in Ford forum. Dull site/ boring truck.
Every F150 forum I see there is barely a mention of anything. Has posts on the first page 2-3 months old. Boring Zzzzzz

The Raptor is plenty capable of jumping and landing. The F150 has an extremely strong frame. The problem comes from people thinking it's a trophy truck, and thinking they're trophy truck drivers. If I took a a legit $200k trophy truck out and ran it like I thought I were a pro driver, I'd probably break it, too.

The complaints regarding the raptor and ranger (not including the stinkbug stance, lol) mostly stem from how they advertise. Ford seems to forget the general public is made up of idiots. They advertise fuel numbers that assume people know that boost burns fuel. They advertise off road capabilities that assume people know it's still just a production truck and won't survive a nosedive off a big jump. The claims they make are true, but only if you know how to drive the trucks to their potential. The Ranger (and any other ecoboost) CAN get outstandingly mileage, but you HAVE to stay out of the boost. The Raptor CAN jump and go fast, but you HAVE to know its limits.

The Raptor is built for a different type of off road driving than the Taco. The Rapor is about speed. It would smoke any other truck in a baja style race. It's also really damn nice. The Taco off-road/pro is built for trails. It's not the best trail rig, but its probably the cheapest that has a real rock climbing capability (I haven't seen a hard core traction test on the ranger).

Have you seen an F150 forum? There's certainly no shortage of anything relating to the F150. Also, your comments about the cracked exploder liftgate panel and car sales are silly. The 2002 MY explorer was bar none the worst vehicle Ford ever produced, including the infamous Pinto. Ford isn't cutting cars due to lack of sales. They are trimming their lineup because the US economy is shifting toward crossovers. The focus and escape, as well as the fusion and edge are competing for a lot of the same customers. Since the crossovers are more profitable, Ford is keeping those. Toyota OTOH has the Camry, Corolla, and Rav4. None of those are much competition for the others. Keep in mind Ford isn't the only one dropping sedans from their lineup, and they're ONLY dropping them from the US market. The mondeo will still be a staple for ford overseas, just like the F150 is here.

I was thinking more like 60-65, but yes, 70k is also too much.

This is a Lariat with all the bells and whistles. It's just missing some of the stupid aesthetic stuff like the ridiculously overpriced "black appearance" package and running boards. I built this how I'd build my own. It's a few grand more than my OR Taco, but it also has more goodies being a Lariat (cough remote start cough).

    Still stock completely capable!
Why anyone would spend that $$ on a Ranger and not just get a f150 blows my mind! The F150 At least looks nice and is super capable. The Ranger looks like shit and compared to the F150 is a car.

But it is long past time to let this thread die! This is so pointless and stupid. If looks don’t matter and you want a turbo and your not going to be off-road often and don’t keep a vehicle long enough for problems to occur the Ranger will work just fine. If you do care about looks and do off-road and use your truck as a truck and want the reliability of a naturally aspirated engine and the reliability of a trust worthy brand which is #1 in the world for a reason go Tacoma. Good luck. Unfollowed.

Toyota has been wining the match, and now the ball is in their court. The only thing Toyota can do now, is release the 4th gen Tacoma. The 3rd gen can't compete with the New Ranger, even if the Toyota is a better truck.
