I haven't met a single person in my lifetime that wanted to go to Texas, the school, or the state.

Texas losing top recruits to every other fucking team in the state means people DONT want to go there. so.....................Not the Mecca anymore.

There are just as many cousin/sister fuckers in Texas....If not more.

aTm is the premier team in the state right now (SEC SEC SEC) for not only education but has had more success than UT on the football field. May not make as much money...but that doesn't matter.

I think so too. The outside perception of Conference championship or bust this year is a bit much but the trajectory is good and I think they'll be in the conversation for real next year (pending healthy key players obviously)

Hard not to get too excited, but only takes a glance at the past few years to settle to Earth... :D

and when I think FOOTBALL on any level, the first response is NEVER Texas....I've never heard anyone say Texas actually.

Usually football brings to mine Patriots, Packers, or Cowboys. Then when people think about it more they think SEC (not a school, the conference).

Nobody, except Texas fans, think "Texas" when they hear football.

I love the state of Texas...I'd move there immediately if the boss lady would go. Job market is fantastic. Housing is great. School systems are better than a lot of places. Athletics are great. Hunting, fishing, outdoors life is great. Good coastal region that isnt clustered up with tourist chains.

If my kids want to go to college in Texas, its gonna be TCU or aTm. Really pulling for my 4 year old to be a petroleum engineer. We'll see though.

I know I’m biased as a UGA fan but you can’t deny that the recruiting is there for a dominate run. Maybe the coaching isn’t? But everyone doubting Kirby outside of Georgia tends to forget at how long it took Saban, Dabo, etc.

And I know we’re known as the choke state but look at all the teams lately that have broke the trend like Clemson, Chicago Cubs, and I know there are more but you get the point. But also want to point out who we have “choked” against since 2017. Yeah we lost bad at Auburn in a hostile environment but did get revenge. We lost to Bama, how many can say they have beat them in the Saban era? We lost at LSU, one of the toughest road environments to win in although they arguably weren’t that good. Then we lost against Bama again. No need to repeat the same info. Then we lost to Texas, no disrespect meant but just as Bama did against Utah in a bowl game they didn’t care much about since they had bigger visions and some key players didn’t play that game as they didn’t care since they were headed to the NFL.

Aside from all that, the way Kirby is recruiting imo if we win a chip in the next couple of years the recruiting will only get better as more will continue to want to come and potentially open the door for a dominant run. I know most will laugh at this or whatever but it’s hard to deny the potential is there.

On the flip side of that is if we continue to choke big games away in the next couple of years the recruits will stop buying and we will return to mediocre.

Didn’t mean to get into such a long text, but just started typing my thoughts and it all came out. Just get tired of the insinuating that this is still the same team. This isn’t Richt’s team anymore. Not by far.

I don’t think it hurt them in that, either. SEC football and ACC basketball homers are the only ones to go on and on about conference affiliation for recruiting and image. These kids go to whatever school will bow down to them the most in the majority of the cases.

Unless you’re Miami, Louisville, North Carolina, Southern Cal, Arizona, Auburn, etc. Then it pays !

USC was good for a few years under one era. Alabama has been good with multiple QBs, RBs, and kickers.

Agree on most points, I just think that there will be a cap to it. Not sure what needs to be done for the final hurdle, I just meant that GA will be at/near the top but a multiple championship stint (2 titles for one class lets say or 3 outta 5) may be hard to attain for anyone really.

I know all about the "choking"...

Why does Tom Osborne eat cereal straight from the box?...

Cause he Chokes whenever he gets near a bowl

before the mid 90's that was the recurring trend. so many chances, so many misses.

Agreed. What AL has done has been unprecedented but USC had multiple QB, RB, etc. Won 34 straight games, 3 Heisman ( one vacated), 6 BCS wins and two championships. Not AL level by any stretch but they had very solid 8 year run.

Lol aggy has had 1 that’s ONE as in only a single 10 win season in the last 20.....TWENTY ....years. Lol
Aggy can’t even spell success on the football field.

There is a reason they left the Big XII. They couldn’t win here even when Texas was bad. So they went to the sec to be jock sniffers like uga. Living off the success of the conference instead of the team.

If you’re gonna come with aggy smack you better check your facts first.

I’d also compare the level of play on the then PAC-10 too. It was USC and... USC.

Pete Carrol is a helluva coach. USC needs to bring him back as an AD or heavily involved when he is done in the NFL. That department is a mess.

Again, agreed. Pac wasn't good then and still isn't great by any stretch but they still beat the teams on their schedule.

As far as now, calling it... Urban to USC if/when they suck again this year.

They have to make a big name hire or their credibility is shot and they'll continue to free fall. Dino Babers is another coach to watch if it's not Urban. He has reinvented Syracuse and has a high, paced fast offense that kids like to play in now. He'd be successful there.

Oh, and fixed that for ya.
