Need to see a side angle. Looks from the front like your back rounded quite a bit and shoulders kinda rolled forward. Can’t tell for sure from that angle, though.

@weldertaco you're doing some weird hybrid stance. Like you can’t decide if you want to pull conventional or sumo. The weight is also too far out in front of you which is why you’re butt is too high up. You should be rolling the bar up your body the entire lift. It should never not be touching you. Your shins should look like shit when you’re done. At the top of the lift your shorts should be jacked up to your crotch bc the bar dragged them up. You aren’t even making contact above the knee so you’re pulling 100% with your back and about to go to snap city. I’d drop the weight and fix that form before trying any 1RM again...

Brutal honesty. I love it. I’ll work on it all. I never do deadlift or care to be the strongest. Just did this cause a buddy challenged me.

I could be all douchey and say “fuck it. Lift is a lift” but nah. You’re right. The bar was against my shins when I began and yea I haven’t found a deadlift form I really love. I’m gonna go back to my normal lifts tomorrow lol. This was just for fun.

I’ve had glasses since 20. I like them. They make me look more mature ;)

Bilateral hip replacement is pretty hard core. I don’t see many patients get recommended for that often. Knees yes but not hips.
Hopefully they last you a good long while

I was thinking the same thing. Bring the legs in and the grip with 'em. Don't know if it would work for you but when I'm getting up in weight I exaggerate my grip. Basically my under hand I grab the bar in almost a half curl grip and my over hand I roll my arm forward like I'm trying to grab something under and behind the bar. Grip the bar tight and ease yourself into position while straightening the arms. The overhand is rolling the bar toward you while the underhand is trying to roll it away, if it all makes sense? Makes for a nice tight grip! :)

I beat the crap out of my elbows when I first started lifting as a teenager trying to get a 200 lb bench, then the 225, then the 275 etc. Overloading lifts, forced reps, negatives-the whole gamut. My elbows were screaming pretty good off and on for a long time. Also have had alot of physical jobs over the years swinging hammers, picks, shovels, picking up plywood etc. all while trying to lift heavy, so I've had recurring elbow pain most of my life. Typically rest 1st is the best thing, then limiting the amount of actual work. I was a victim of the hype and trying to workout like an IFBB pro while working a full time physical job and not having the good "vitamins"! lol I think many people just flat out overwork themselves in the gym because they think they can't get big without doing 20 sets and 100's of reps and working to failure every set for every body part. Small muscle groups don't need near as much work-or weight, plus they get worked indirectly with alot of the heavier lifts with big muscle groups. I'm learning very late in life to to just have workouts to keep the blood flowing/heart rate up and the muscles pumped with just the occasional all out or max day. Alot more enjoyable and not near as much strain on the body.

I got yalllll. I like being told what I do wrong so I can improve. Least I don’t just hide behind a keyboard acting like I’m perfect :headbang:

I legit made sure to try and keep a straight back and use my arms as hooks as in don’t pull any with them.

Didn’t think of all the other stuff like shoulders rolling. I’ll give it a shot with lighter weight and see how I do and if I can even do it properly with heavy weight after thinking about this. Who knows.

I love my glasses the majority of the time. I have transitions that keep my eyes protected from UV light wherever I go. Now they suck when your working on your truck in the sun because they go dark and you can’t see crap in the engine bay lol

I’m not a fashion dude at all. I practically need my mother to dress me, but I love Ray Bans and North Face anything. Only two things I blow cash on.
I buy designer glasses every year. One day when the mortgage is gone I’ll buy 5-6 pairs a year just so I can pick a pair to go with my mood for the day.

Glasses make dudes look smart so wear them with pride

I hate glasses unless my eyes are super dry and I can't wear contacts. I don't want shit hanging on my face. And my stupid puppy always licks them when they're on, so that's equally annoying

Most people can’t pick their ass up off the couch.

I’ve never attempted 400. At your size its impressive

I refuse to wear contacts after running a lab with chemicals I had to tell students would fuse contacts to their lens if they got it in their eyes.
Plus I’m not sticking my fingers in my eyes!

My cat goes after my glasses so I empathize with that part.

I can’t surf with glasses on, so there’s that too haha. Didn’t start wearing glasses until college for lecture halls, and then didn’t even really need them until after I graduated for regular daily use. Got tired of them falling off my face so finally got contacts. They have transition contacts now. I’m gonna try and sign up for a sample pair

Crazy what a few days can do. Weighed 237 this past Thursday evening and just weighed 229. No drinking and better diet over 5 days. Should be around 227 in the morning. Gunna try to hit 215 in the next 3 months.
