Broken tail light in a parking lot... where to get a replacement?

    So, recently had a guy open his door into my truck tail light and bumper, removing the fresh from the showroom floor of my truck, and popping it's cherry. The man apologized, gave me his insurance info, and we parted amicably.

    His insurance company then informs me that he is not liable, and they won't be paying, as he told them it was somehow MY fault. I'm uncertain what to do in a case of he said/she said, and waiting for info back from my insurance agent. Considered calling the guy and asking him what his problem is, but that probably won't help.

    The damage is mostly my cracked driver's side tail light, broken only on the side, and I'd like to replace the tail light with an OEM. Thoughts on what site is best, or know anyone who replaced their OEM's on a 2019 and has a spare?

    I have a picture of his insurance and his drivers license that he handed me. He never even asked for mine.

    It hasn't done me much good.

    The only recourse you probably have would be to file a claim in small claims court and sue him there.

    Buddy, you are telling me. Hoping my insurance agent can give me a lift here. I assumed it was all settled. a handshake, and no hard feelings. I didn't feel like calling cops for something so small and wasting everyone's time.

    I was mistaken.

    Call your insurance company. They will contact his and get it done. If not your insurance company needs a re-evaluation at year end.

    File a police report.

    I kinda figure that's how this shakes out. Frankly, I have better things to do with my time. I'll buy a new tail light, and get the truck buffed and consider it a cheap lesson learned.

    I have driver side oem tail light for sale on buy sell trade. Had the same thing happen to passenger side of 18 sport. I believe tail lights are the same for 19's. Let me know if interested.
