    Re: smittybilt- at this point theyve replaced my entire winch piece by piece, and dont usually ask too many questions. I dunno how i feel about the durability of the damn thing, but as long as it gets you out of the woods theyll fix whatever is fucked on it. Im not the best to ask about them right now since id still be stuck in that mudhole at the gorge if you guys werent around. Murphy applies to winches too, turns out.

    Yeah, I guess that’s what I was driving at. Kudos to Smittybilt for their warranty but if it fails in a mud pit (for whatever reason) and strands you there, the warranty doesn’t really matter. It needs to works when the time comes and needs to be dependable.

    It seems like a lot of the issues arise from the solenoid box, do you think remote mounting might help?
