Usually the truck temp legs out at 122. Never seen it higher haha. Pretty sure that's the limit.

Why are you assuming his insurance company is telling the truth?
They just don’t want to lay the claim. They’ll say what ever they want to blow you off.

I’m going to be honest its not worth the $100 it costs to buff that scuff out and replace the tail light, to sit there and argue this issue with insurance.
Its probably going to cost you more in insurance increases to even bring thus up to insurance. Plus your insurance is likely not going to help you without you paying your collision deductible.

I would just let it go.

I'll absolutely take these off your hands!

Basically, my insurance company said people changing their stories is far too common.

If I want to use my coverage, then they will go after that guys insurance to try and get it repaid. No guarantees, and then I have a claim on my insurance for a tail light that I could have replaced myself. I get where everyone is coming from. Even that dude, but what goes around, comes around. Shame on him...

Should have gotten a Police report, never amicably walk away and expect to be compensated, that's why the dudes insurance company in a polite way said its not their responsibility, without a Police report it really never happened officially.

Don't stop there. Install a 24/7 recording front/rear dash cam setup. I picked up a Rexing V1 for under $250 and installed it myself. It's great for recording off-road adventures and in this case, you would have been able to send a copy of the video to his insurance as proof of his lie.

    TWTaco,

I still need some tail lights. Did you still want to sell these, or did you find another use for them?

    Let me know!

At least it was just the taillight and a minor scuff. Someone backed into my tailgate hard. Had to go through my insurance. Good luck on your search.
