I now have 52K miles on my 08 DC 4x4 OR TP Tacoma and when I think back over the last 2.75 years, I have not had any service type issues whatsoever. Stayed on the service schedule, kept receipts, rotated and balanced the tires at each 5K miles (sucked 45K out of those RT tires too), and washed and waxed her regularly.

Had NTB repair my wheels they damaged to the tune of $480, had Service Station owner pay for white over spray removal, $250 and got a full refund on a set of bad tires from PepBoys.

I might add I do not have any door dings either. I literally wore a white ring on to the RT tires sucking curbs (it is white rubber under that black sidewall!). I have walked my butt off from the far reaches of parking lots but it has paid off.

    How is yours working out?

72k miles and no issues. Oil changes every 25k with Amsoil Fully Synthetic, other than that, normal maintenace. Plugs on schedule, brake pads, front rotors (switched to EBC for better stopping power), tires at 60k. My last Toyota lasted 225k miles before I sold it, it was still running fine. Miss my 1986 4x4 though, wish I would have kept it.

46,000 on my '09 5 lug. No squacks. Have replaced two of the original tires when I hit a curb but the other two Dunlops are still going strong. I change my oil and filter every 3500 miles with Havoline Dino oil.

Let's see........ under drivetrain warranty dealer at 48k replaced rear main seal, 53k replaced both rear axle seals & brake shoes, 75k resealed timing cover and replaced front crank seal and I payed to have steering rack rebuilt since one of the seals was already going out. The seals were just pure shit on this truck, hope the new ones are better. Haven't broken motor mount brackets, bent the shitty tailgate, had any leaks around fresh air inlet or any stuck pedal nonsense tho.

Yep. Everyone thinks I'm crazy when I say that. I'll be doing an analysis with Blackstone when I get home but I've been doing this for the past 10 years now on multiple engines...Dodge Charger SRT8, Ford Mustang 4.6L. Nissan Altima 3.5L V6 had 70k when I sold it and the Blackstone report I gave to the new owner gave it a clean bill, before that I had a 94 Isuzu Rodeo with 160k, sold it to a friend and he's kept the 25k oil changes, it just rolled over 200k with no problems. Same with my old 86 Toyota truck with the 22RE engine. It had over 200k when I sold it. I swear by Amsoil. That and today's engines, oils and filters are much more technologically advanced than previous generations allowing for longer life without wear. I do check my oil at each fill up though, pop the hood as soon as I put the pump in, I'm very anal about my maintenance and do all my own work.

08 4x4 DC Sport LB - 24K and no major problems.
    Syn oil every 5K
Syn in both diffs. at 10K
I beat my truck up on a regular basis, I know I have had several hundred lbs. on the tailgate no problems.
I haul heavy loads in the bed regularly as I own a landscaping co.
I also off road often in the desert looking for fossils and I tow my truck behind my class A motor home using a Remco drive shaft disconnect.
As you can see I do a lot with my truck and have had zero major problems.
Is it just me or do the 08's seem to be a good year for Gen 2's?

71k on my '07 DC SB 6spd. No major problems. Bought it a year ago w/ 42k miles. Change the oil with Mobil 1 every 5k miles. Rotate tires every oil change. Mobil 1 in tranny, both diffs, and transfer case. Mobil 1 grease in all the U-joints. Wash and wax regularly.

The only issues I have (just annoyances)
Squeaky throwout bearing is kinda annoying but its intermittent and not really detrimental.
Squeaky clutch pedal requires a shot of lithium grease every few months.

The only thing that has broken is the little flap on the 12v power jack.
