What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

No picture but flushed the power steering system. I’m at 77k and I don’t have a leak but I noticed the reservoir was low and the fluid is probably original so flushed it all and put some valvoline max life synthetic ATF in there (dexron iii per the manual). Steering feels buttery smooth baby

I think you’re asking about how it was ran on the prinsu?
I looked around here and didn’t find much so just used zip ties for now. Didn’t get very good pictures.

I was thinking to try something like these so it doesn’t interfere with moving the crossbars. Not sure how they would hold up though.

Spent a little time cleaning up the cab rack lighting wiring. Loomed the light bar wiring with the side light wiring.

 

Nice! the panduit squares are good but in the weather they could come loose over time I’d try some adel clamps that can mount to the rack with a screw and nut. I was curious to where you ran the wire to your power source, did you drop it in the back of the cab and through to the battery or what?

I change the oil on the 5's and 0's on the odometer. Change at 60,000, 65,000, 70,000, 75,000, etc. If you're a little late on one, then the next one comes early. Never forget that way.

 

We have very similar taste in motorcycles. Do you usually haul in the bed?

It does work with the stock 6 disc changer. You do need to check the model number of the head unit as a certain type doesn't work with the adapter (see the link). They also have a good video on installation, took me 20 minutes with my 3 year old "helping". Works great, couldn't be happier.

 

Yea I figured they wouldn’t hold up too well in the weather, I’ll have to try those clamps.

I ran it down the windshield, one wire on each side.(passenger side was a pretty snug fit, driver sides kinda loose, but seems fine so far) Then under the plastic/rubber and out under the hood. Positive wire to fuse box.

Same for passenger side and then just ran it across. I ran two switches so I can turn on one side at a time. Didn’t take that many pictures, if your interested I can get more today under the hood.

 

Wait til you need your windshield replaced.

 

after almost 5 years with the same wheels, I decided an upgrade was due.
Level 8 MK6's 17x9 -12mm offset.
a guy also sold me his barely used set of BFG KO2's 285/70/17
Also didn't really like the big 'ol 8 on the center cap. so a little brake cleaner to the center cap took it right off and I added some TRD decals. I think it looks much better.

What does that have to do with my wires? I can unplug the lights move the wire, they then do their thing, and put the wires right back where they were plug them in. Done.

 

How do you like those headlights? I see lots of horror stories, but they're just so much more attractive than the stock lights.

 

Fabricated my own high clearance bumper hitch receiver less than 30$ in material. Just have to add some gussets for strength.

 

I'm in the same boat, but I want new wheels after only a year and a half on my current ones lol
