Hey y'all, I'm gonna be spending a long weekend near Keuka Lake in October, anything worth checking out? Trails, breweries, off the beaten path scenic hikes, good restaurants?

watkins glen has the race track and over by Ithaca has some nice seasonal roads to play on

 

I must know more about these seasonal road you speak of

 

i know NY has a website some where of all the seasonal roads, its been 9ish years since ive been down there but the roads were a blast to play on

 

There’s some free camping in fingerlakes state forest if you’re into that.

I’ve driven through some of the seasonal roads down there over the years but never really found anything too exciting... fun sure, but not worth driving out of your way for.

There are an insane amount of wineries and breweries in the area. Many wineries actually have a winery/brewery map if you want to make a day out of it. Be careful if you do though because Ontario county will hit you with the book for alcohol related incidences.

Ithaca has great hiking and Watkins Glen has a very cool trail that takes you though some little caves along a river.

You’ll have fun, it’s a gorgeous area down there.

 

Finger Lakes state forest is an absolute gem of NYS and though it's a little bit of a hike from Keuka it's well worth it.
If you're into any sort of bike riding the whole area has everything you could ask for.

Mac's Drive-In is between Geneva and Waterloo, great old-timey joint that serves Richardson's rootbeer, which as far as I know is only available in one other place in the country.

There's a great wienery about halfway down Seneca lake, just past Dresden that's great.

Not too familiar with the seasonal roads around the area but the whole network of farms and roads south of Seneca to Ithaca is totally stunning this time of year,

I just moved back down to NYC from up there and can't say I don't miss it.

 

I'm going to be moving back NY this fall. Does anyone have a shop recommendation to have the truck regeared?
