jump to unread posts

Would it be possible to have a link that jumps you to the first new post in a thread? This way we wouldn't have to scroll around for the new posts or sometimes go back a page or more.

 

that would be really cool, but i feel like it would take a up a ton of bob's memory space, as every subscribed thread for every user would have to be taken care of and updated separately, whereas the function that allows you to jump to the very last post in the thread is not speciffic to the user and does not have to be stored and saved.

 

That's a good thought. It may and if that's the case I wouldn't want him to do that but if it takes a minimal amount then I think it will make it so much easier.

 

i agree, i'd love to have a feature like that, especially for the threads that get 4 posts a minute.

i gues the other thing you'd have to worry about is it slowing down the website....but i'm not a computer expert, so it's jsut a gues

Haha! I've never seen that. Although it would still be a little easier if it was on the subscribed threads list in the control panel. Thanks for saving me some time.

When you're in the thread, at the upper right and just before the thread starts, there's a "View unread" button and in the forum's list of threads and in the "Last Post" column, you'll see a ">" arrow. Click on that and it takes you to the last unread post.

These depend on your having read the thread to begin with. If you just want to get to the end of the thread, you'll find a list of pages, click on the last one or "Last".
