No, the aluminum radiator is the only one that has the lifetime warranty which doesn’t mean anything if it cracks and needs to be replaced every year

 

that must be frustrating! ... not sure i can handle any more frustrating situations

i was sorta close on the alloy nuts pricing

camelback wants 6.44 for them each
which means my local parts dealer would probably want $18 a piece with MSRP at 9.31

I’m SOOO tired of the radiator drama and failure, So I had a custom one made for me last month

 

has it been delivered/installed?
i have not seen any pics of it or maybe missed them

is this why you are delayed on the 600k?

 

This is the thing that has been keeping me from going Champion. BUT I am trying to figure out a radiator that cools better in general. Two other first gen's and I just ran up Mt. Washington in NH. Was typically in 1st/2nd gear all the way up doing about 20-25mph up a STEEP grade. Can't go much faster because of how small the road was. I had my AC on, and the truck started overheating. First time the truck has ever almost overheated. I of course turned the AC off and went to heat and cooled it down, and kept it down the rest of the way up. A similarly built first gen with a champion rad was able to keep his AC on the whole time. Now granted I do have a parts store rad, after I accidentally drilled into my OEM rad 4 years ago. Granted this was a special circumstance that I likely might not ever deal with, but it definitely caught my attention in how I want to cool the truck better. I also think I should have put the truck in 2-low and went up in like 3/4th gear to take advantage of the extra gear reduction and put less stress on the motor. The other guy in our group also has a parts store rad and his trans temps got hot enough to turn the light on too.

 

Your best bet on keeping that powder coat on those lug nuts is NOT allowing anyone or shop or ANYONE use an impact wrench for removing or installing the lug nuts

 

Yea, truck has been down and no response to when the Champion radiator will be back in stock.

The champion radiator will definitely drop the temps to 188-190 compared to the stock radiator but will not go the distance

 

i always take them off by hand if I have to, i may have to instruct DT to use hand tools only for the lifetime rotations on the $900 rubber

they were about that much after all associated fees, taxes. mount balance all that stuff
they worked well in nearly foot of snow on pavement, very quiet on the freeway at high speed, i flip those stupid jeeps that pass me with their loud ass noisy tires lol
i am sure they will work swell in mud but have not had opportunity for that adventure

The stock radiator weight is 10 pounds

The champion aluminum radiator is 15 pounds 2.5" thick

The custom aluminum radiator is 35 pounds and 2.25" thick.

So the champion aluminum radiator is made with thin cheap aluminum.

 

Wow, drastic difference. Of course we'd expect it to be, being a full on true, correct custom build. Nice to not have to worry about the radiator again
