Ok, I got my OnePlus 7Pro to hook up wirelessly. In order to get wireless AA on non Google phones, you have to:

Enroll in beta program for Google Play Services (GPS)
    Update to newest GPS Beta
Enable development mode of AA by going to AA>settings>scroll down to version>tap 10 times
    Click Development Settings
    Screenshot_20190730-184927.jpg

    Select "show wireless projection option"
    Screenshot_20190730-184939.jpg

Before plugging in my phone to head unit, I initialized the system, and started from scratch.

    Works!

For the radio antenna adapter did you need to hook the Blue wire to anything to get it to work? I assumed that was a power antenna wire that we dont need.

I don't know if you "have" to or not, but I did connect it to the remote wire and once I connected the wire harness to the factory one it began working.

Ok folks, if you have a non Google phone, have this head unit (or any other wireless android auto capable unit) YOU CAN utilize it! Here is my best write up so far in regards to getting it to work, with video links.

    1. Go to the Google Play Store and enroll in the Google Play Services (GPS) Beta program. Once enrolled, download the latest version of the GPS Beta. You can find the directions for doing that here:https://developers.google.com/android/guides/beta-program

    2. Enable development mode of AA by going to AA>settings>scroll down to version>tap 10 timesClick Development Settings

    3. Select "show wireless projection option"

    4. Reboot phone

    5. follow your head unit's instructions on connecting to it wireless.
Here is how to get to show wireless projection option

    Here it is hooking up:

i just had my moment. my radio reception was very poor and thats because i didnt hook up the blue wire on that harness to the power antenna wire. so it is a necessary wire that needs to be hooked up

Does connecting the phone via usb provide enough juice to properly charge the phone from this headunit? Unlike the stock usb port before upgrading anything which merely slows down its power drain?

^ What he said. I wished it supported fast charging for Samsung phones though.

I noticed on my Pixel that it would charge fairly quick from 50%. On my OnePlus I'm not as concerned (the battery life is ridiculous).

If you have not hooked up your phone wirelessly for Android Auto, or don't think you can, check out my how to on reddit.

Samsung unfortunately doesn't support wireless AA as of right now that I'm aware of. I have considered going to the Pixel since it did support it, but i'm ok with plugging in the phone right now

can you hook up an older iphone (that is listed as compatible) and use it like an ipod for the vehicle? Thinking of buying one on ebay and sticking it in the glove compartment where i ran the black usb cable. My classic Ipod is not compatable

I've got one better: get an old iphone and hook it up via bluetooth/airplay.....

    But yes.

Yeah only issue with the old one (my last one was a 4) so the storage on it is pretty low.

Spotify and Apple Radio are very different in regards to sound quality. Spotify's fidelity is noticeably lower.

But you can adjust the audio output of the independent sources in the options. Maybe i misread the quality instead of volume

I adjusted the output to loud, but it might be because the setting for streaming quality is set to automatic. I'm going to set it to high and see if it changes it for the better.
