I'm headed to Ouray from Las Vegas this Friday, the plan is to camp at Lake Powell/Lone Rock Beach Friday Night, then head into Ouray Saturday. Ouray trails Saturday-Tuesday then take a scenic route back to Las Vegas.

I have a 20' camper and plan to BLM/Forest Camp as often as possible bu not opposed to proper camp grounds.

So where should I go Wednesday, South or North? Looking to get home to Vegas Saturday night so I have 4 days to make it home.

All trail or scenic recommendations are welcome.

Figure I could go South and hit New Mexico and Northern Arizona or North and hit the Rockies and different parts of Utah.

I'm leaning towards the Southerly route because I grew up in Utah, done Moab and Zion/Bryce multiple times.

I will be in the Ouray area hitting trails and fishing with my Dad. We are tent camping and hotelling it. We are coming from the east (TX) and plan on staying in lake city saturday night. PM me if you want some company on any of the trails.

As far as Ouray.... Drop the trailer and run Imogene and Alpine Loop if you can, both are fully open.

Outside of that area, I am not familiar enough with AZ to make recommendations.

Much of Northern AZ is Navajo land and requires a separate permit and regulations. North Rim of the GC is very good with tons of BLM land but not any really good east to west routes that I am aware of.

Right on, we have a good size group but i'll definitely update this thread once I know which trails we are hitting.

Do you know what trails you're going to hit?

Alpine Loop is on the list, I'll talk to the group about Imogene. Thanks.

Nice, what trails are you hitting?

Good call on the Navajo Land, I drove through that area 15 years ago but completely forgot about it. North rim is a good call, thanks.

    Awesome, thanks for the list.

As many as possible, heading out in the morning. Definitely doing Imogene and all of the alpine Loop if possible.

Weather permitting, Engineer, Ophir, and Imogene, maybe California and Corkscrew. I also want to hit Stony pass just to say I crossed the Rio Grande, but with all the rain the water crossings worry me. I am not liking the weather forecasts I have seen for the area though.
