wouldn't scrap. i do believe the trucks out by time for the replacement. Scrap you'll be lucky to get 500-800 bucks. You would do better off selling it to someone and disclosing the issue. someone will fix it. Hell if you were near me i'd buy it and swap a frame under it

I'll see if I can find listing

Damn, reminds me of the frame on my old 02 4runner. It had three holes on each side just like that. Let me guess, the trucks probably mint besides this frame corrosion. Sad to see best of luck dealing with it all man.

I had a new frame put on my 06 with 480k miles on it... This year! Don't give up on that truck yet. It's just getting broken in. Try calling other dealerships. My dealership in TN was thrilled to do it for me.

Middle TN. I just went back and looked at a post I had made on my vehicle thread, it may have actually been last year when I had the frame. I would still call around. I'll try to find some paperwork on when mine was done

if i remember right primary coverage ended sometime the beginning of this year. Secondary coverage is unlimited miles and 12 years from the date of first use i believe.

I'd call a lot of welders and fab shops. Someone will fix it.

How is the outer frame rail? It is more important.

I heard about this a while back. knew someone who had to have his ftame replaced for free but for a 2006 model. I have a 2012. Do only certain years that have to worry about this problem or should I be contacting toyota as well?

    I'm in Michigan.
Thanks for all your replies, I'll work with Toyota but at the same time I'll look for a fabricator or shop that can patch it up.
    Good advice

$5000 for a new frame... bahaha try $15-20k

You need to work with Toyota to verify you aren’t still under the frame replacement program. You may have missed the cut off this January but still work with Toyota.

The frames themselves are surprisingly cheapish (2000-2600... parts kits add up to around 800-1000 minus leafs) but that’s a lot of work and your not Assured to get it.
I bought a new frame for my 1st gen. Took 6 months though

Thats just the frame, not all the labor with it.

Toyota shells out about $15-$20k per truck to get them swapped.
