I understand the cut of the fender at the bottom to the bolt but how does the flare attach there now? Looking at trimming same area.

The narrow 35s mounted are AWESOME!

I went with TRD wheels because narrow tires should have narrow wheels and the only narrow alloys for the Tacoma were OEM options. The width, offset and backspace are perfect for these tires.

I did some suspension flexing on a large dirt berm near my house and found I had to do a little more fender trimming and surgical hammering right here on the body seam.
    20190806_145122.jpg
I also have a little rub on the front of the fender well right here.
    20190806_140921.jpg
I could easily mold that with some heat but I have @SouthernStyleOffRoad high clearance kit coming for my slimline and will cut all that out soon anyway.
    20190806_142423.jpg
Tires inside the fender well were they belong:thumbsup:

*note* I had 4.88s with 255 85r16s previously. No real discernable difference in driving expierence so far.

Looking at his sixth picture down he’s definitely done a CMC and hammered the pinch weld.

Edit- view post 298 you can see it better there.

I was just searching for skinny 35’s

Nitto makes a 35x11.50x17 Trail Grappler

    Goodyear makes a 275/80/17 MT/R

Nitto has a place on their site to request tire sizes.

    Good to see more choices.

Looks awesome! What was your tire specs? You said skinny 35s, so I'm guessing a 35x10.50?

Here's my cut at the bottom. I'm thinking of pulling out the tabs and fabricating a mini fender liner to protect the interior of the fender.

Yes 35x10.5r17 I did my own CMC and beat my pinch welds. There's a good pic in a previous post on this thread. The narrow tires with less offset are definitely easier to fit but no getting around a cmc and pinch weld flattening with 35s. I say just do it lol. I went pretty deep on the CMC and put relief cuts in the pinch weld to get it super flat. If your gonna do just dive in and make some room. I was able to leave allot of the outer plastic intact (probably thanks to the narrower tire) and coated the pinch weld in a rubberized undercoat.

I've smashed the pinch weld, I had a CMC done a while ago and I've already cut my fenders 2.25-2.5" in the front. I've also ordered 315/75r16s which will hopefully be installed next week. I spray painted the wheel wells to get the distracting white so the wheels stand out more.

Once my tires are instated I'll be trimming the flares to fit, but I might go with wider flares than stock, if that's a thing.

Skinny 35s, on the other hand, would be something I'm definitely interested in after getting these wide ones to fit. I have been running 255/85r16 Cooper ST-MAXX for the last 10 months and love that tire and size. I just need more clearance.
