Sweet, good start. And the coils are easy to swap in and out, it's not a big deal to try others and so on. I didn't know anything about desert racing shocks back then. I think Icon might've just released shocks for it when I was kinda fading out of the scene. I think. Maybe it was King.

The appealing thing about the Icons is they come with the links and springs. If you go for the kings (arguably more adjustable and higher quality) you have to piecemeal the entire setup... but then again kits never did me any favors on the Taco or in any other hobby so maybe that's the way to go. Either way I cannot go back to regular emulsion or gas charged shocks ever again, I've been tainted by adjustable ride quality and comfort.

It's been good work. The more years under my belt doing SysAdmin work the easier it is to find a job in it so I want to make sure I maintain that as part of my portfolio.

I'd love to try some. Maybe I shouldn't actually....
I'd imagine for the heavy ass Cruiser those types of shocks aren't cheap, right?

Theoretically since you use stronger springs to suit your ride weight the shocks don't work a whole lot more I suppose if you were under/over sprung it might be really tough on them. But yeah totally should give them a shot. They're affordable enough, and the same basic design as used in any other vehicle, can't buy 2.0" ones for cruisers though haha, so 2.5" and 3" are obviously a bit more expensive. The kings are fully re buildable and revalvable and come with remote resis and clicker adjusters. It's like $1100 for the fronts (less travel in the front of a cruiser) and $1250 for the rears from KING so not a whole lot more than shocks for any other application, pretty reasonable considering the platform is usually more expensive everything.

Gotta pay to play with true quality. I think the OME Nitrochargers I bought were 150 bucks all four of em. Maybe it was 200 but still

Ah, well thats a new one. Not the worst idea for an inch or two but that looks rough, I'd want all sorts of alignments marks and a nice even piece in there. Lots to tweak and screw up in there, plus now they've permanently altered the lenght required by the spindle and shock... you know what, more that I think about it this is an objectively terrible idea and their execution is even worse. Like duct taping a fuel tank, it ain't gonna end well,

I had a bit of a moment in the middle of a trip where I was just fucking miserable in my truck. The road was beating me up, 8psi in the tires couldn't help even, the truck just didn't have the ride that was needed and my body and equipment in the bed was paying the price. It was at that moment I really stopped trying to convince myself that the Billies were a good stop gap, I wasn't even wheeling super hard or anything. We wheel for weeks sometimes and it'll just beat you up, so in an effort to avoid all that and have a ride I can truly enjoy (these are my vacations usually, I don't fly to warm climates or other countries) I overbuild suspension. I know the OME, Billies, KYB, what have you work really well for some and I won't discount that, but I just can't do it anymore.

There's something just so amazing about a dirty skinned wad of starch from the ground, no matter how they're cooked they're great.
