I think it might be the belt.. i dont have a wrap idler installed, so i think its gotta be something else. I did notice when i had the tensioner off a while back that the idler pulley had a couple of spots in it while turning it that were a little harder, so may be time to replace that. Got the timkens in the mail today, so next time i change the belt, ill swap that out as well..

Sell me on this 50mm. Whats the advantages of this over the stock one? Really want to avoid grinding on the tensioner, the weak points on the stock one is why i went with the roush. Not sure i trust myself to grind it down correctly lol

It's the belt my man. I promise you it is.

But just to reconfirm with you.. yes it is a 6203 bearing.

    20181031_172641.jpg

Because these dual bearing rollers give the idler system as a whole added stability. You will notice a more consistent boost number while it is engaged assuming the belt is in good condition. I gotta replace mine too.

Oh no, then you are good. You should be good for the belt.

Spray the system down with water while it is running if the chirp goes away the belt is the issue. If it does not it's a bearing issue.

Mine is substantially stretched. I gotta replace it. This time I want to go with an RPM belt.

will the roush tensioner or the steeda work in stock form an a non modified super charger system? or are the pullies different and need to be swapped?

also, would a harmonic balancer be needed with the extra load of the supercharge belt drive system? in relation to nst light weight crank pulley.

    I'm sorry, I don't understand the question?

Do you think an extra harmonic balancer is needed if you install an NST pulley? If so than that answer is no, as the NST pulley is machined and balanced to proper spec needed to handle the crankshaft vibrations.

Both tensioners arriving in AS IS condition require transfer of the OE 54.58mm pulley as these tensioners were originally designed to fit SVT Lightnings and 03-04 Terminator Cobras and have a 76mm pulley installed on them. Modification to these tensioners are required no matter what right out of the gate. They are technically not true "100% Bolt ons."

but the trim to fit is a very easy deal. see page 1

Sorry, not an extra harmonic balancer. I have came across info that the light weight pullies with no rubber dampening in them case issues with the engine and accessories due to the excessive vibrations.
When running the extra load of the supercharger belt drive does it absorbe enough of the extra vibrations to minimize the potential harm or will it make thing worse for the supercharger drive. Like premature tensioner wear or belt slippage?

It's not an issue. If you want to run modifications on the blower, you will have premature wear on the belt and on your bearings and such pretty much no matter what. It is a "if you want to play then you gotta pay" sort of game. As far as the engine accessories go like alternator or power steering pump, AC etc... No, that system will not see additional wear on the belt as the supercharger gets its own independent drive system from the secondary crank pulley attachment. The engine related accessories will continue to run like happy campers.

How about running a light weight crank pulley with the supercharger? Would I be wasting my time going that route?

We are currently in the process of CAD designing a lightweight supercharger pulley with the ultimate goal of a group buy. Stay tuned but there is a thread specifically for it. If you want in, then comment on there and add your name to the list.

this is def the most active thread I have been in for sure. My wallet does not like it much but so far its been great. Wait until I actually have all the shit and run into issues or tuning.

    Good advice so far.
