My 3rd gen rides super smooth and I want to lift it but im curious if it will have an impact on the ride, what does everyone think? did a lift kit effect the ride for you?

Yes. Your ride will assuredly become a little firmer. The quality of your lift will determine how much stiffer, and whether or not you will gain any performance at the upper limits.

A small lift with quality parts will improve your ride, a cheap lift with cheap parts will have a negative impact. I have the eibach/toytec setup on my 2018 and the ride has improved without becoming too firm or too soft.

How much did you lift your truck?

It is about 1.5 - 2 inches with the eibach stuff at the lowest setting up front. I use a toytec AAL in the rear with the toytec boss shocks. I am somewhat picky about ride quality as I have run Fox 2.0 on my F150 and higher end parts on my JK.

    Depends.

But it will be 'different' regardless of what you do.

Only your butt meter can tell if that is good or bad for you.

If you love it as is, leave it alone.

I should add this for confusion factor... when I ran fox 2.0 stuff on my Ford and one of my JK's the ride was firmer and softer all at once, it really was nice. however this round money dictated that I went eibach, got the whole kit for less than just the front Fox would have been..

What an ad claims is a horrid way to make spending decision.

    Options............

Call Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road and discuss all your goals with her. I've never seen anyone here complain about her recommendations.

IMHO OEM is best. Unless you have a reason to lift, like actually off-roading the truck, I'd leave it alone.

im more so looking for a more aggressive look, off-roading is something I would like to get into, however being active duty don't necessarily have a lot of time for

This is great for someone with a big budget for their lift, i would bet it drives nice. And ya OP, tire choice is a huge factor, cheap tires will def ride like poop.

Lift kits can ride better or worse than stock depending on a few factors:
    Quality of the parts
Quality of the shock tuning (somewhat related to above)
Lift height (2.5" max front height)
Front spring rate (get the lightest rate to support your height)
Rear spring rate (stay away from medium & heavy overland springs unless you're substantially heavier than stock)
Avoid rear overload leaf springs unless weight carrying capacity is your primary goal
Stay away from very long and stiff bump stops
Run appropriate load range tires (no D or E rates tires!)
