Did it trip your vsc? Just had a similar experience where I blew out the link ends for the sway bar and bent it as well, also pulled/stretched my abs line to the passenger side. So yeah they're not indestructible but hell it was fun too. Hit a ditch on the passenger side too fast coming back on the trail from a long day out shooting.

Why is everyone in this thread so terrified of changing an inner tie rod? Unless he has play in his steering that wasn’t there before, there is NO reason to replace the steering rack. Inner tie rods are like an hour job to change both.

Hey, I’m glad you use your truck and I can appreciate that. But when shit breaks and it causes loss of control which can turn hurt other people, that’s not cool. Your truck has serious issues beyond if it runs or not. If something were to happen your ins company will NOT cover you if your driving your vehicle in this condition. And when I mean you I mean the truck or the people and property you could hurt. Solid axle is expensive. Marlin Crawler is coming out with a sweet IFS setup for our trucks or just fix the thing and get a proper lift with some serious skid plates. (Not Aluminum).

All joking aside, make sure that whoever welds that up uses at least twice the thickness plate to patch that and runs a few passes of 7018 welding rod. Don't ask, been there repairing a dodge with a cracked frame. Good luck!

I notice no play in steering or any real pull to either side. i think they are both equally bent, lol

What mall we’re you at when this happened?

Seriously, this looks bad. How much is this going to set you back. Any plans to upgrade?

Insurance might cover it. I saw them cover a mustang being driven offroad & drowned in a river, and an expedition being left in the ocean

I'd be at my dealer telling him how my 86 would have bounced off that stuff and been ready for the next one.

Looks like i am just gonna replace the rack, new tie rod ends from fabtech, all new CV's. Depending on if the insurance company covers some of this gonne do some upgrades to prevent this from happening again.
