Im sure there will be plenty of "back seat quarterbacking" on pit stops by Red Bull.

But overall a pretty meh race


and on the side note...loved the comment on Mag's wedding an if Groj would be invited. Along the lines of "I wonder if Groj was invited or if he will just have to crash in to it"

 

The only chance he had to fight would have been an immediate pit right after Hamilton. Way more meh than excitement for sure. The Mag wedding line had me slapping me knee.

 

I agree with Christian, I think they (Red Bull)were on the back foot of Mercedes from the start and a pit after Lewis might not have helped. I think not having a team mate at your level is what is killing the fight up front. Had Hamilton been under pressure from Bottas or Gasley or the Ferrari's,it would have taken away Lewis's free pit stop and would have made the race better.

Great strategic call by Mercedes , in hindsight Red Bull should have pitted Fishlips right after Hamilton which would have only put him about 2 seconds behind Hamilton with the same tires

 

Agreed, if they had pitted asap there would have been a great battle. As soon as they left him out for 2 laps it was game over

Either that or wait a little longer and put him on softs, and let him loose. At worst he would have finished in the same position.

I was hoping for a huge lock up or some brake failure but, alas, it was not meant to be.

 

No shit, they have an annual F1 budget pushing over $550M. NASA only spent $400M with SpaceX to develop a crewed next gen space capsule. My bet is Binotto won't be back at the helm next year.

And where was RB's Gassy? The poor kid looks like he couldn't score a point at a retirement home walker race. Poor bastard is doomed. Don't think a team would pay him minimum wage to drive a cart at this point.

Speaking of screwed. Haas. One car was DNF due to mechanical issues and the other was stuck in limp mode. They are no closer to figuring out what is happening than Gassy is to a world championship. Will Gene Haas take his toys and go home? Will he fire Steiner? I hope neither happens. Would miss seeing Hass but would really miss listening Steiner. F1 and the world needs more Steiners. If Haas quits the sport maybe Sky could fire one of their twits and put him on the air.

I don't want Haas to go either, one of my favorite mid tier teams even tho they suck ass. But Steiner is my favorite boss

Finally watched the race. Ferrari nearly a minute behind Lewis and Max. Pitiful really, also the reason Merc got a free stop. Had there actually been some competition at the top they wouldn't have been able to pull that off.

That's good to hear. I like the track and it produces good races and punishes mistakes.

 

It seems unlikely the driver will be fernando since he cut ties with them.
