Cooper STT Pro

My ST Maxx are great in snow. Guess it depends on the consistency of the pow. But Yeah, Cooper E ratings ride WAY better than the Duratrack C let alone E ratings.

 

I second this datapoint, make this man the mayor of titty city. STT Pros were by far the best choice for me, once the set I am on burn out, I will be reskinning my new SCS F5s in the same rubber. I've seen alot of duratracs in the Sahel, they burn out quite quick, the coopers have longevity, and as mentioned, only cool cats may or may not use them.

 

I have those tires but in 285/75/16. Love them! 70k mikes on them and still lots of life and not too loud either. Looks like they’ll go over 100k easily.

Wish I still could run mud flaps like you though. My sliders keep getting sand blasted from road debris...Considering getting a set of c-rated 265s on steelies for the winter and towing.

It would be very difficult to find a offroad tire that could exceed the STT Pro in offroad performance. I freaking love my tires, looks and performance.

 

This I find hard to believe. All things equal and both sets new the c-rated tires should ride way better in a small truck like ours unless misbalanced or out of spec and fallen through QC somehow

 

I agree, they SHOULD. But go into the ST Maxx thread. I'm not the only one that thinks so.

So you went from duratracts in 265/75r16 c-rated to same size Maxx’s in e-rated without changing anything on your truck?

And did chalk/road tests with both?

Also consider that if the duratracs were already worn out (perhaps the reason for replacement) its expected they didn’t ride great anymore

 

If you lived on my side of the country I would say "come on over" I would be happy to let you take my truck for a spin on the road and off the road to see for yourself. Mine are p265's on 17 inch wheels.

 

It looks like they don’t make 255/85r16, I’ll probably go for the stt maxx.

That’s good to know. Seems like a a lot of people are happy with them.
I’d rather get the stt pro but is what it is.

 

More to traction than acceleration. I think people complain about the braking.

 

Love mine. I’m at 20k miles on this set. I’m about to replace them. Same tires, but different size.

Duratracs are a pretty good C. About 45 lbs. I've had 2 sets.

 

Got them on yesterday. Love 'em so far!

 

What do you guys think of the Pros on snow/ice?

It seems they don't have much in the way of sipes for traction on packed roadway snow/ice.
