Camping in the bed tonight on Carolina Beach. Soft sand and I'm too stubborn to air down so I used 4Lo and A-Trac and had no problem. Anyone else do some beach camping? Stay salty my friends.

Wish I lived in a place where this was allowed in more spots. Enjoy man, looks like fun!

They just opened the beach for overnight camping by me. Was closed for a while thanks to those "endangered" Plover birds. Hopefully I can get a couple nights out there soon! Also, do you have a mattress or something in your bed? I use those interlocking tent-mat things

One thing I’ve always wanted to do was drive down the beach

It’s fun :D I did it in northern outer banks and I’m from Ohio. So it was definitely something new. I didn’t air down but kept it in 4H and was fine. Looking back, if I knew what I knew now (thanks Tacoma World) I would have aired down

I had a Bedrug Bedmat. Has a bit of cushion and just lay down a thick blanket.

I’ve been looking for a compromise between my girlfriend’s desire to go to the beach (we live in Central Texas and the closest beach is 4+ hours away) and my desire to convince her that “overland” camping is fun. This could be the compromise, OP.
