And you think that’s OK? If you re-read my post, I never said it doesn’t happen. Any idiot knows that. I’m saying that a man with any integrity wouldn’t do that. Only you can decide wether your integrity it worth a couple grand. We all know that, by and large, used car dealers are going to pull those tricks, so you have to watch out for them.

Pulled the trigger on a King Cab Titan. Shitty aftermarket support compared to Tacos and Jeeps etc.. but I can still find the stuff that I need.
I have the quad for real offroading anyway... and now I have a truck that my quad will drive between the wheel wells!

Nissan is positively PILING money on the hoods of new vehicles right now. It's insane how cheap you can get them off of MSRP. Wife just got 12k off the price of a Murano without much of a fight.

This Titan has the luxury pro-4x pkg with heated/cooled front and rear seats, birds eye camera and a bunch of other crap, as well as 5000miles. Got it for about $33,000usd. I think MSRP is around $50,000.

My "That's it" moment was slamming my head against the A-Pillar of my Taco, while getting in and telling my friends, I "loved my truck". Bought my 2019 F150 a couple weeks after, and now, after 4 months, I know for sure I love it more than my Taco.

That’s because the quality sucks so they practically have to give them away. Their not the Nissan of legend anymore.

Wife's had a few Nissans, just sold her Rogue (with the much-maligned CVT). 100k miles of zero problems.

Well gravel sure, but a regular driveway or boat ramp or anywhere you’ve got traction the 2-low will be super handy

We also just got rid of my wifes rogue with zero issues, my Nissan frontier before the taco I just got in March was a seamless 120K miles with not a hiccup.

After my 3rd $1500-$2000 repair in a year on my 2013 F150 in a one year time frame I knew it was time to trade her in. I loved that truck and I loved Fords, but 6K in repairs in the 60,000 mile range left me disillusioned. The Tacoma is a better truck in every imaginable way.

3rd gen ownership isn't a magic carpet ride to truck heaven. Its more like an NYC subway to Michael Jacksons house. Some suffer more than others.

Neither was 2nd Gen ownership, nor can I imagine 1st Gen ownership was when everyone’s frames were rusting out. They’ve all been great trucks overall.

My integrity is worth that couple grand. The vehicle is usually just going to the auction where they sell for pennies on the dollar knowing they are hunks it junk. Fine by me, buy new.

Again, you're mentioning integrity w/r/t how to treat a used car salesman? Really?

Did you ever tell a company that 'the check's in the mail' when it wasn't yet?

Yes. I am saying that's fine. They know it's done to them too. And you just don't toss the keys of your trade on their desk and say it's a perfect vehicle and that's it. No, they take your keys and take your trade out on the road and disappear for 15 minutes. I'm sure they stop somewhere whether its out on the road or out back at the used car prep area, and get out and give it a good once over and connect a diagnostic tool. If not, shame on them. They are aware you're getting rid of the thing for a reason and not to just pump up the dealership's bottom line out of a sense of giving.
