They are razor sharp out of the box and fly very well. 6" group at 80 yards. I think the only downside with them is the inherent risk of corrosion because of the A7 tool steel. I think they actually fly more consistent than the 125gr field points I have

I don't think corrosion will be an issue with the A-2. It won't be as corrosion resistant as say D-2 cuz the chromium level is about half. We used to use A-2 & A-6 for tooling, cams' etc... all the time. Never had a corrosion issue.

Any real field experience with them? Curious as to performance.

Easton Bowfire. 330 spine. Think they're 6.5mm. They fly good.

I'll check those Black Eagles out.

definitely! Ive hit a couple deer high and it busts through the spine. A vitals shot is definitely a pass through. We cant use Mechanicals so I use Muzzy and G5's

I've never used mechanicals. It seems like penetration suffers. But I ain't gonna knock it till I try it.

    Stock,

I've been shooting mechs since 1998. The only times I failed to get a complete pass thru was on two deer that I spined. The rest were complete pass thrus. I'm shooting a mid weight arrow, about 420 grains at 275fps. Shot 100 gr Rocket Sidewinders up until 2009 or so when their quality went south. Started shooting Slick Tricks then standard and now Vipertricks. In 2017 I tried the Rage Hypodermics and have been quite impressed. Six deer. Six pass thrus. Blood trails are something from a horror movie. That said, I am quite selective in my shots. Broadside, straight up the leg, 1/3 of the way from the bottom. Quartering shots, looking for an exit at the opposite shoulder. Ribs and shoulder blades haven't proven to be an issue.

A lot of penetration issues are related (IMO) to an untuned bow. Many shops perform a rudimentary tune, hunter has issues with broadhead flight, shop recommends mech's. The arrow still ain't hitting straight on and penetration suffers.

All in all, the best broadhead is one that is scary scary scary sharp and flies perfectly out of our bows.

I may give these a try some day. I'm definitely not saying they are bad, I've just never used them.
To be honest, the last time I bought Muzzys they were on sale for $12 for a 3 pack. I bought so many, I'm good for a long time. But I do appreciate the info.

Getting ready for bow season, been putting out rock salt and grape koolaid powder for about a month. Made a feeder a few years ago out of a piece of 12’ pvc pipe. Cut it into 3 lengths and used a cap with holes drilled in to let water out on the bottom of the “Y”. Cap on top to keep rain out. Fill it with shelled corn and it keeps the turkeys from eating it and from molding in a pile if it gets rained on. Mounted all three of them on a metal fixture I made and there’s a metal stob in the ground it sits on. Went and got a couple mineral blocks as well and just put it all out. Never tried them before. Hope to get a blind up and a stand hung next week.

Never done that, good idea though. I try to put mine up about a week before I’m going to hunt that spot but it don’t always happen. Last year I hung a stand, made a lot of noise and this dude was in there the next morning (1st picture) then I shot the 10 point (2nd picture) the next week.

Checked both cameras a couple of days ago. Got lots of different bucks but nothing to brag about. Pulled one of the cameras, not too crazy about location. Gotta do some thinking on this. I have a place I really want to put it but it's a decent hike. Not real far, but further than I want to walk when it's 90 outside. My camera that gets the most pics (over 20k in just over 2 years) is 80 yards off of a hiway. My buddy pulls to the shoulder of the road, I'm in and out in 5 minutes.
Oh well, just felt like sharing. Good luck to everyone!
