Today I learned why you dont book cheapass hotels. Showed up to what the internet made look nice (Ramada), and it was under renovation, yet still open somehow, not to mention it was in the hood too. Signs up saying that water will be off untill a certain time, sketchy construction folk everywhere. Gtfo'ed outta that parking lot and gladly payed double for a holiday inn in the nice part of town. Just gotta call Expedia for a refund on the other place.

Also, I went into a cave this morning. IMG_20190808_093809091.jpg

And drove 7 hours from Chatanooga to Vicksburg MS. Learned my mileage goes way down after about 72mph.

Sounds about right, I could get 21 mpg when speed limit was 60 and I'd drive 65. Where speed limit here now is 70 and I go 70-75mph I get about 18-19 mpg.
Ramada's can be hit or miss, yours was a miss lol

I was holding 70 most of yesterday and got 22.5 mpg. Did 72-75 for 400 miles today, got 20-21. The 3RZ+ 4:30 gearset is probably the best combo Toyota released on the 1st gens for gas mileage.

That's real good mpgs. I need to go to a lil taller tire size next time to give myself a longer overdrive gear so I can cruise faster.
But yeah I've no qualms with the 3RZ at all for just road tripping and being a pickup. I'm sure if I towed or carried heavy loads I'd complain but I wouldn't use a taco that way anyway. 3RZ is great for me and my needs

Finally looks like a damn shed. I’m leaving for Yosemite on Sunday so this has to get done on Saturday. I still need to wire it for power, plus run fresh water to it. It’s getting painted barn red.

It’s a nice house in the Hayward Hills.

There’s already a spigot two feet from it, I’m just going to tee off the line and run it into the shed. The wall of the house is three feet away so it’ll be an easy trench.
