oh ok ya, not truly a 1st gen as blue92 and other like his are
    just some leftover 'discarded' type

you know I believe my insurance card or registration at one time did not even list my truck as a Tacoma, it was listed as a pickup for the model

My truck was a highway killer, so comfy on the road ride wise. But the cab really was too small for me, killed my hips and legs. I'm going for my green truck round two, cleaner build at least, with my land cruiser. Still gonna run it hard but I'll try to keep it from picking up as much damage. The wheeling really is only hard on the running gear, the body doesn't have to suffer.

i am not concerned about the tech, i have nothing much hi-tech in mine, just a 12 year old CD deck, just bare bones otherwise, no fancy mods or such

They really are all very similar though, the 95-97 doesn't share hardly anything besides a reduced front paneling and leaf springs with the previous pickup models.

the tempo is mean and aggressive with attitude, compared to the similar compact trucks in its day

not 'farm' trucks but 'sporty' trucks that could pretty much go anywhere on their own with the highest ground clearance and power in its class

Yes referring to engine control and suspension differences mainly between the 3rd gen PU's and 1st gen tacos.

Oh yeah, lots of differences there. We start to pick up some real improvements in the engine management in 95.5

Hard to go wrong between ADS, Icon, King. I tend to think that even out of the box my Icons were more comfy than similarly out of the box Kings and especially ADS (I don't think they have a good base valving setup yet). But once you tune all three to your purposes I'd imagine you'd be hard pressed to tell a difference

    Everything but the driveshaft. B03A - 410
That's the back road for sure.

Hwy 7 north out of HS is scenic through the Ouachita National Forest and goes up into the Ozarks. Hwy 7 north of Russellville has some winding mountain roads and scenery much like western NC.

Even within the pickups that was true as well, year to year changes were minor. The architecture of the trucks were largely the same though. Notice how overall safety rating, power rating, towing ratings never changed.

Well your 95 had been though a literal shitstorm so I'm not surprised. Just because everything worked didnt mean it worked right. Almost nothing related to how the drivetrain functions changed until ECTS-i was introduced.
