Just epoxied in pillars in the project stock. It’s at this very moment you realize, “Did I put release agent everywhere I was supposed to?” Guess we will find out tomorrow morning :anonymous:

Well it all came apart as planned. A little sanding to clean up the edges and I’ll call this one done. Learning a lot on this project.

I've got a hand me down Remington 870 that has been neglected. Its time for that to change, I want to be able to use it for HD duty. Any suggestions for a barrel and rail? I have a spare red dot that I want to put on it and want to go down to an 18" barrel, shortest I can go legally. Not going to SBS it at the moment.

I put a Remington branded one on mine.

Check out Brownell's for parts and tools.

Also, rem870.com for ideas and parts.

Oh, and AGI (American Gunsmith Institute) has a great video on the disassembly and reassembly of the gun.

Anyone taken an NRA class? If so, which were most beneficial to you? I'm doing an RSO class next month and look to piggyback a few more to get instructor cert.

I’ve never met anyone with experience who took a NRA “certification” seriously.

Unless you are a “tactics team” instructing moms. Oh and the occasional “AR assault course.” At least that’s what we get around here.

Some places require it before being hired as a RSO. NRA is the only one I know that offers classes that places recognize.
Never have taken any so cannot help you on that.

Agreed in principle, as my firsthand life experience has given me copious firearms training, but for work-related liability stuff, it looks good on paper.

"MadDaddy, post Anyone taken an NRA class? If so, which were most beneficial to you? I'm doing an RSO class next month and look to piggyback a few more to get instructor cert.

A long time ago my department sent me to an NRA class/training so I could become an instructor. (Former LEO instructors)

Then to Glock classes/training to become an instructor (retired Navy seal instructors).

Then to an FBI classes/training to become an instructor. (FBI Tactical Team instructors)

Then to four H&K classes/training to become an instructor on pistol/shotgun/submachine guns (think MP5). Former Delta instructors)

Of all of them the NRA was the weakest training, but looked good on paper as someone else said.

The H&K classes/training was the most intense and educational.

I am sure those were fun classes!

Through my work, we participate in informal media range days. It looks good on paper to say “there will be an NRA endorses Cheif RSO on hand.” But when I’m at SHOT range day or other big events, this means diddly squat.

I guess it depends on the certification. I needed the NRA pistol instructor certification to get to my Simunitions instructor certification and my Texas LTC Instructor certification.

And the instructor certification shoot test is no joke.
