Please elaborate what you were trying to get across then because no one understands you.

You’re clearly flustered and embarrassed about being wrong. I know that I am correct when I said that lifting his Tacoma will solve his rubbing issue. If you feel the need to blabber on to help you sleep at night then feel free.

That lift in your original post looks nice, seems to cover the bases, and at a reasonable price. I would be interested on feedback if anyone is running it.

The only thing it doesn't seem to have is coil overs but you may not need it with that size lift

Dude you have a Pro, meaning stock you came with 265’s and a 3/4” higher front end then he has. Did you have rubbing issues? Didn’t think so. So please tell us more about how OP will still rub if he lifts his truck 2”?

    Agreed. From what I’ve read, and admit to no first had experience, I would say it looks good. However, now or later I would be prepared for the truck to “potentially” need;

UCAs (If alignment ends up and issue) others have said 2” is that maybe yes, maybe no area.

ECGS bearing swap, again 2” being gray area.

    Coils.

My intent will be to do all the above (maybe not UCAs?) and just eliminate the potential.

@QuicksandTaco @SpeySquatch - Thanks for all the info, will look into the AAL option.

@shane100700 - With the 1.5”-ish lift (Bilstein 5100 3rd notch), I read from Bilstein that stock coils are still a good match - no?

Also, will I potentially need the ECGS - I thought that was for TRD OR/4x, or no? Mine is a 2WD TRD Sport.

    Thanks!

@FRESH OJ - Yeah, thinking of sticking with stock coils since I will only raise 1.5”. Thanks!

@mutely - yeah, I get that it CAN still rub if I flex it enough. I’m looking to eliminate the rub in my daily driving situation.

    Thanks, all!

Damn, sorry I missed the 2wd!! Not a dig, but no one really lifts 2wd here so think I just assumed. I’ve seen it in the south, just not in these parts.

I’ve read both on the stock coils. It was more of a “might” need. Again, haven’t lifted so this is just what I’ve read in the last few weeks. Plenty of guys have only done the 5100s and are extremely happy. Just all possibilities, something to listen or look for.

Oh I just noticed the 2WD too. Lol

I’d pre-runner that bad boy for the trails. I did it to my 2003 and it was fun as hell

A lift can help reduce tire rubbing depending on where a tire is in relation to where it rubs.

If it rubs straight across from the center of the wheel then a lift may reduce the amount of rubber touching the rub surface. The contact point (usually the frame) will be lifted up to where the tire starts to round and move further away from the contact point

During flexing the tire will now travel through a different area of where touching/rubbing could/may occur

@SpeySquatch @shane100700 Yeah, I don’t have a 4x because I have zero need for it. I wanted the truck for the convenience and fun associated with having a truck. Ultimately I wasn’t looking to lift the truck. I wanted the aftermarket wheels and tires because, well, I rarely stick with a stock looking vehicle - I like the look of the custom wheels and beefier tires on the truck. I did some research prior to buying and thought that 265/70r17 tires would fit with no rub. It seems the Nitto Ridge Grapplers combined with the -12mm offset wheels weren’t going to let me get by without some minor rub issues.

All of this was the reason I was looking for a very basic lift - 2” or less.

Does that change any of your recommendations?

    Thanks for all the help!

2WD are fun and can do most anything most people use their trucks for.

I actually jumped mine at 60...I did send it

OP do the block lift you’ll be fine. 90% of the people on the street put those on and they’re fine. Will do the job just fine

What is this “pre-runner” you speak of?!

    A pre-runner is a 2wd truck taken off-road.

I could be mistaken, but I believe the term is based on some events using 2wd vehicles to “pre-run” courses.

Mike from ORW treated me well and gave me the beat price I could find. Would buy from them again

I would use lift coils along with 5100s set to 0 instead of preloading stock coils and using 5100s to do the lift. OME 887 coils will give you the amount of lift you’re looking for. MUCH better ride than using preloaded stock coils.
