I fumbled through the forum looking for a bicycle rack I could mount to my new KB Voodoo hi rise crossbars, but couldn't find anything. I wanted to share what I finally came up with. I wanted a solution that would allow for the wheels to remain on the bicycle. Two Yakima Highroad Bike Mounts with the straps removed (They wouldn't fit around the bar). I bolted the racks in place backwards with 1/4" X 1" bolts with washers and locknuts, and replaced the snaps with the T-Slot 1 kit with locks. Plenty of room for more bikes!

The Frontloader is the one I use on my truck, the mounts should fit several different shapes and types of bars.

Any luck with the frontloaders on your cross bars? Chad told me they’re 1.5 inches high and 3 inches wide. I’m afraid that my Yakima frontloaders won’t fit on the crossbars if I buy them.... if you had any luck please let me know and submit some pictures! I know that biscuit boy has the newer high road bike mount that has interchangeable t slots instead of the straps but the frontloader doesnt.... anyways keep me updated!

Yes I can confirm the Yakima Frontloaders do not fit unfortuantely for me as I ordered the KB Voodoo crossbars and picked up 4xYakima Frontloaders off of Kijiji. I am not looking for a way to mount the round tube Yakima cross bars to the KB Voodoo bars - a bit silly but I really wanted a tonneau cover with bikes above it. Anyway will post pics once I figure out how I will modify it.

Also can confirm the anodizing on the KB Voodoo comes off with friction between the uprights and the cross bars, I will look into some Rust-Oleum products to touch up the rails and uprights. I have only had them for 3 weeks.

Anyway still in love with the truck just need to find the right setup - I feel like there is a huge gap in the market when it comes to mounting things above a tonneau cover and being able to quickly remove that system still use the bed of the truck to haul large items. Taco on fellas!

I made my own Bed Bars, both the bars and the Frontloader rack are holding up great.

Bkups, might have to sell or return your frontloaders and change them out for the high road bike mounts with interchangeable T slots like the first guy in this post. Anyways thanks for the feedback, looks like I’ll be off to sell my Frontloader bike mount too... glad I didn’t order a second just yet.

For those who haven't purchased crossbars yet, you might consider getting the Mobtown Offroad Low-rise Bed Bars instead of the Voodoo setup. Their black coating seems to be higher quality and they use standard 1.5" x 1.5" 80/20 crossbars that will work just fine with the Frontloaders.

If you're running a compatible tonneau cover with the Mobtowns, be sure to ask them for a set of their custom gaskets when you order the bars.

Just some followup photos - the back clamp of the Yakima Frontloaders fit, but the front clamp is just missing grabbing proper. So close but so far, debating notching the plastic if possible - unlikely. I will probably need to install a cross bar 2" above and parallel to the existing Kb Voodoo bars.

Yeah wish I went this route, but ordering in to Canada is super expensive currently and I won't be able to sell my 3 week old KB Voodoo bars and get close to what I payed for them. Good warning to others looking to mount Frontloaders and other clamp mounts.

Just to follow-up I went to a local metal shop and had replica cross bars made up with a depth of 1" which has allow me to mount a Thule roof box and Yakima Frontloaders. I even cleaned, primed and painted them, first truck project accomplished and pretty happy with how they turned out.

That is a great design. Thinking about the same thing on top of my Snugtop. Has anyone had experience with Yakima's Raptor bike rack?

The 1up tray looked like it would work with the KB bed bars and sure enough I couldn’t be happier! Close in price to the front loader and a little more affordable than their hitch racks.

Can confirm, 1up tray is fantastic. Fast to put on/take off,. Fast to load bikes. Only caveat is it's hard to lock your bike on the rack.

I'm looking to learn more about these options too. I just picked up 2 Yakima Bike Racks and want to mount them over the OEM Tonneau cover I have.
It seems there are only 2 options: KB VOODOO Highrise crossbars vs. Mobtown Low Rise Bed Bars.

Does anyone have any experience and how do bike racks attach to these crossbar options? Thanks.

I can tell you that the clamping mechanism on the Yakima Frontloader does NOT work with the 1.5" x 1.5" crossbars that come with the Mobtown Low Rise Bars. I tried to heavily modify the Yakima to get it to work with mine, but my modifications eventually caused the clamp to break, so I'm now out $210 and on the hunt for a different solution. The Mobtown rack is awesome, but the Yakima Frontloader is very picky when it comes to crossbars.

I can't speak for how well they work with the KB Voodoo Bars.

Edit: If you have the Yakima Highroad racks instead of the Frontloader, those will actually work with the Mobtown bars. There's also a T-slot adapter kit available for the Highroad rack that isn't available for the Frontloader -- which would probably work even better with Mobtown's t-slotted bars.

The KB voodoo bars don't fit the Yakima frontloaders easily. I ditched mine for a 1UP tray instead. They are about the same price.
