Car solutions reverse anytime + front camera install

Nice! I like the way your view angle came out too...you can see the front bumper in relation to what's in front of the truck. I also agree with you get rid of those grid lines

What camera did you go with? I used the square shaped Natika - it stuck out a little more than I'd like. My OCD says to get the type you used and try it, but I'm not wanting to mess with what I got

 

It's a Natika as well. They include wedges so you can dial in the angle you want. The part of the grill where I mounted the camera was at a bit of an upward angle so I added the small wedge to get it where I liked. I'm thinking you stick with what ya got and put $$ towards your next mod

Here is the wire diagram I received from the Natika company, it makes things much clearer.

 

This is a good example of how to add a rear camera directly to a head unit. If you are using the Car Solutions module the only wire that is needed to power the front camera is the red trigger wire from the camera which ties in to the +12v on the module.

Sorry if there was another reason this was posted that I missed. I just wanted to clarify as I scratched my head a bit on the trigger and +/- wires when I did mine.

 

The red trigger wire goes to 12 Volt out on the car solution plug. The company sent this to me last night. It tells you to connect B trigger wire to A trigger wire. Once I mount the camera I will ground the camera some where in the engine compartment

 

You explained this well.... the long red and black leads are not needed.. Where is the camera grounded??? and on camera the white loop needs to be cut correct?

 

Grounds through the video RCA. Yes cut the white wire for a front view camera.

I initially left the lines but quickly decided they were a bit annoying on a front camera. Clipped the wire as soon as I got home after the install.

 

Got the CS kit installed today & very impressive! Pretty easy install & the ability to lock onto either camera while moving is a nice feature.

TOPTIERPRO TTP-C12B camera off Amazon & mounted it under the grill badge/TSS sensor. I used the wing mount with a healthy amount of VHT 3M tape on top & bottom of mount. Seems to be holding in place very well. I've seen a few others use this camera instead of the Natika & decided I would give it a try.

I was able to get the top of my license plate mount in the view to use as a reference point & the image looks better than the factory rear camera.

The car solution module is awesome!

Retains everything stock from swapping stations etc.

Nice to be able to swap between front and rear at anytime.

My only issue was shoving all the cables and unit to get the stock radio back in. Other than that awesomeness!

 

So I'm pretty impressed with the night time view. Here is one at a stop light & one at my garage. Both you can see it's pretty dark. The garage door pic is with my headlights off but a outside light is on




One thing I did notice is with the manual lock onto the front camera the speed limit sign on the message screen behind the steering wheel disappears until the cameras are turned off. Here's the sign I'm talking about

 

Hi... just finished installing the car solutions interface/nakita for my front cam set up. It works!! However, I noticed the video orientation is reversed (negative image). When I turn left, video shows Im turning right; or if an object is on the driver side, on the screen it’s on the passenger side. Any way to change this?? Or is there a true front camera I can purchase to correct this problem. TIA

 

I believe you have to cut one of the looped wires to flip the mirror image. Refer to your instructions with the camera to find out which one. The other wire will do the parking lines

 

You cut the white wire.

 

I think i got a “rear” cam only.. as the pic flipped upside down after i cut the white wire loop. I ha e the Nakita WD-007x. I just ordered the Wd-007s which it says it can be front or rear mounted.
