Man, just made a quick trip into Palmer town. I'm figuring out the torque and power band of this 3.5 Atkinson; sure is fun driving stick again!
    :burnrubber:

Got a little present from our son Mitch, standby...

    Yeah.
Ha, awesome. Each of my trucks have had a plush toy mascot. I named my truck Bumbles after what Yukon Cornelius called the abominable snowman in Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (Bumbles Bounce!), he was about the same color of blue. So I have a plush yeti riding in the console cupholders.

Awkwardly corny ... I kinda implied that when I said it in the post. Mitch thought so too, and suggested Stitch. I like that better, OK?

    Yeah.
Stitch is way better. Just don't go changing it again or you shall be banished forever to the 3rd gen section.

I'd prefer beheading, or maybe torture in the Tower of London dungeon, then hung gently 'til death relieved my pain.

Banished to 3rd Gen Section...pffft...not happening Pal.

Shhh! Don't speak unkindly about things you don't have any control over. If @MTgirl gets in a mood, we could ALL be stuck there!

I see you added a little texture to the new ride. Out here it's the cost of doing business. Though I have managed to keep it to a minimum on my personal rig, there's no getting around it.

Yep, I bought it specifically to be able to do stuff exactly like driving out to Danny's cabin, etc. No regrets.

    End of week one thoughts:
    Love this truck. (period)
The OG TW folks are gonna think I've slipped a gear after how badly I dissed it on here in 2015, but I truly believe Toyota got it right on the 3rd Gen redesign.
Here are things I really like, in no particular order other than random mooseman neural firing:
    1) The flat wide stance, the look has really grown on me. Looking over the hood it seems to frame the trail ahead.
    2) Front approach angle.
3)Easy drop (whatever Toyota actually calls it I don't know) tailgate feels solid and the dampening feature is really nice, plus it functions flawlessly and consistently.
    4) Rear seat flexible configurations and clever use of all available space to create areas for stowing gear.
    5) Seat material seems much more durable than my 2nd Gen, yet very comfortable. I'll need to monitor wear, but today I have no desire for seat covers, so unless they become a necessity due to wear, I won't be getting any.
    6) All weather floor mats have a design similar to the weather techs I put in my 2nd Gen, just slightly shallower yet stiil a liquid confining "pan." I like the look enough I'm willing to give them this upcoming Winter to test functionality.
    7) Brace yourself ... I like the ATKINSON engine. It has flexibility to be economical, yet you can find the torque and power when you want it. It might be because of the manual trans, but I can't find a thing to complain about on this engine.
    8)Power rear sliding window.
    9) Heated sideview mirrors. Haven't needed the heat yet, but thrilled knowing it's there.

Only one shortfall so far...still no hood struts. I'll be ordering some Redlines.

Those are my random neural firings on Stitch at the end of our first week together.
