    Here's the situation:

I see a ton of stainless brake line kits online but do those replace the hard line to the caliper? Or are those for the hose that the hard line connects to?

Your local O'Reillys can make you a new hard line with fittings. Measure it as if it was laid out flat, and carefully bend back to match the factory one.

Nik if i'm in there replacing the hard line, would it be smarter to just get a flexible line made instead?

No. You want the hard line to be replaced as is. For the rubber brake hose that runs after the caliper hard line to the frame you can get a stainless extended line if you'd like. There are safety issues with the rubber brake hose running all the way to the caliper such as rubbing knuckle or wheel/tire. Also I don't believe the rubber hose has a fitting small enough for the caliper and it would have to be a female to male. All of our rubber brake hoses are female to female

A new Z shaped hard line at the caliper is only about $6 at the dealer. Your local Toyota dealer should be able to get it overnight with no shipping charge.

OEM part number is 90080-94073 and I just checked it’s $33 online. Where is it $6?

That part number is for the flex line.

The part numbers for the Z shaped hard line should be 4731804110 for the left and 4731704050 for the right. Anyone needing these parts should confirm this on their own.

This is a Canadian site, so these prices are in Canadian dollars.

I’m calling the dealer in a bit, if it’s not too expensive I’ll just buy from them, but I have heard a lot of people go to O’Reilly & get the tube. I just don’t know the thread size on mine

It’s been a while since this has been posted but thought I’d throw my 2 cents in. The problem I was having with this was I kept getting sold the wrong thread. The first time I made assumption the auto parts store was correct, the thread on male was too small, left me with a present on my garage floor. O’Reillys was the only one who had correct thread so if you can save the old connector do to take with you. Make sure you do eye test, line new connector thread up onto old one you brought with you. Make sure lights doesn’t come through. Had to get one steel and one alloy because they didn’t have 2 matching but should be up and running soon. Thanks all for previous posts put me into right direction.BBD46BD5-E730-416F-98D9-720CBE9EDA0B.jpg

It's only about $5 from the dealer for the correct line prebent and ready to go.
