If you want to build muscle, you absolutely are not going to do so by doing cardio. I would keep cardio to a minimum, and use it not to assist in rapid weight loss, but to assist in the health of your heart.

Weightlifting has been proven to burn more calories than cardio. Also, you are breaking down the muscle which in turn is how you gain muscle. A quality weight training program for losing weight will be far more beneficial than cardio. Cardio can help you lean out, but if you possess no muscle, then you are just skinny fat.

Be careful what you wish for. The higher your metabolism the harder it is to build mass.

But... think of it this way. By being more likely to gain weight it forces you to be more critical of the health quality of your diet thus leading you to make more life long healthy choices because if you don’t you’ll just be fat.
Whereas if your skinny/fat poor health choices still lead to type II diabetes and heart disease you just are less likely to make better lifestyle choices because it doesn’t impact your physique.

I feel I have more control over my physique having a lower metabolism, and I appreciate that it makes me more conscious of my overall health.

But I’m sure @uhplifted will tell you, if you eat like shit you still feel like shit. Skinny or not lol

    All true.

I'm around 2700 for a cut. Most people probably aren't, unless you're my size. Gotta build that metabolism to feed those muscles. I also need about 3500 to gain, honestly sometimes more. The more food I eat the more I digest and I can quickly ramp up my metabolism which in turn naturally burns more calories and then I again, must increase. Haha. Eating near 4k food that isn't garbage is extremely unpleasant.

Well, it’s friday. That’s means noods.

Two weeks in right now. Finally shed of the vacation water and then the water from the steroid dose pack. Sitting at 176 this morning from 184.

Going to drop 5g fat starting today. The plan is then to leave the fats alone for a while and chip away at the carbs.

    New Marcos 175P 210C 70F.

“Cardio” if you want to call it that, is 10k-ish steps per day. That’s just my normal daily activity without trying to supplement. I’m keeping track of it so I’ll have a baseline later when I find a sticky point in the cut. I’ll bump it to 12k or so.

Feeling really good in the gym. Wrapping up a peaking cycle. Moving into a taper next week then I’ll have a little mock “meet” and test my lifts. Curious to see how much tip end strength I’ve lost dealing with injury for 8 months. Plenty of cals right now so no hunger pains yet. Life’s gooood.

Onto the noods. Two weeks apart.

This reminded me of one of my favorite beers of all time called "Concurrant" from Wicked Weed's Funkatorium. It's a wild ale/sour with black cherries and honey aged in wine barrels. Nom nom nom.

I will never understand why people complain about leg day, especially when overhead press is a thing. :bananadead:

Proper glassware! I’m a beer snob. I don’t drink beer from pint glasses.

Can confirm. I could eat all del taco, McDonald’s, etc I want and not worry about it, but boy do I feel like shit the next day. Sometimes even hours after eating it. Which is why I almost never eat shitty foods anymore.

I’m so happy I can’t tolerate eating shit anymore. Makes my life so much easier.

People bring donuts and shit into the office I just keep walking lol. Not worth the bloating and energy crash

Pastries are my weakness. If someone offers me one I have to accept. Luckily I work from home so I don’t get offered a lot
My girlfriend did start making these delicious banana muffins that are real good and they’re paleo. Uses like almond butter, coconut oil and coconut flower. So good and (mostly) pretty healthy!

I’m pretty fortunate in that I really have no weaknesses outside of beer.

I pretty much have learned (and it took a lot of work) that food doesn’t bring happiness.

Beer I just fucking love. Tasty shit. And really the only two things I have to watch are my consumption per day because of liver health and then my budget lol as long as I have those two covered I’m going to enjoy.

Refined sugar causes me joint pain. When the pastry kills my workouts and causes me pain it looses its appeal.

My “weaknesses” are things I eat regularly I just watch portions.
Like prime rib and mashed potatoes? I take dat shit ten fold over a fucking pastry LOL.

Depends on the beer and what I'm doing haha. If I'm in the house just relaxing, almost never drink from the can. If I'm in the garage working or grillin, then I'll drink a lager or a session/IPA from the can. It just always tastes better from a glass haha. Like I said though, I'm a beer snob, I will admit it!

The only time I drink beer from a can is by the pool because glass by a pool = bad.

I drink from the bottle if I’m outside.

Drinking any other time I drink from a glass. Either a 12oz fancy glass, pint glass, or very often a 4oz taster.

I get the glass has to match the beer but I hate belgian glasses and wine like glasses. To foo foo for me.
