    Toyota or the other manufacturers are not dumb, we as consumers vote with our wallets. I bought the Toyota over a similar Nisan really because of a couple reasons important to me: potential resale value, perceived reliability and looks. The available Frontier with the options I wanted only came with the atrocious “roof rack” and comical graphics. I preferred the size and even the feel in my limited test drive. The Toyota seemed “nicer”. To be sure, I am happy with my decision and fell into the “creeping improvement” cycle. Access cab and a short bed with minimal extras would be ideal yet I “wanted” cruise, power locks, power windows, a locking differential and the 4 doors seemed handy. I guess I voted...

    I don't think it's a good idea, but if Toyota changed the Tacoma to a cab over design that would open up a lot of interior space and shorten the overall length of the truck.
