I recently acquired an OEM roof rack but it has no hardware or the main mounting brackets that screw into the cab. The brackets themselves are exclusively sold with the whole kit, whereas the hardware you can get separately. With cost effectiveness in mind, anyone good with metal or have any idea how much it would be to fab up some brackets? A point in the right direction would help. Or Anyone got any OEM roof rack brackets for sale? or even a cheap rack? Thanks

You can get an entire after market rack for like $150. Not sure if it makes sense to buy a kit most for the hardware.

I actually have seen them under $150, but i have some unanswered questions about the quality of the brackets that come in the kits.:bucket:?
I keep having a reoccurring scenario of my kayaks and rack flying away while i watch in my rear view mirror playing in my head.:)

Just keep in mind most oem racks are rated pretty low so I know I would not trust my 120lb $3500 kayak on an oem rack. After market racks like Yakima are fat batter.
