What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

While swapping out the 12V ACC fuse, I noticed Toyota didn't include a dust cap for the OBD2 port like on 2nd gens, so I added my own, GM P/N 12146933:

Gotcha, you’re right. It’s not my truck in the video. But this thread has been more of a “daily happenings” thread anyways. I scroll past multiple posts about favorite football teams etc on a daily basis.

Thanks, this was mostly to show people that have aftermarket mirrors with the gap problem and want Meso puddles it can work with a little extra effort.

 

Well, now you have another complete set that will sell easily! Or put them on your truck and sell your originals.

 

Well I won't sell my OEM paint matched set or the Original Meso set. They will probably sit in the corner with the others.

 

What about the front??

 

Got a set of Bilstein 5100s for the front in my Amazon "shopping cart" already but that will take a bit of planning ahead because I am going to use the OEM springs so I need to get a set of spring compressors as well. As soon as I get back from camping in a week they will move from "shopping cart"> "ordered".

 

This would probably happen if my work schedule wasn’t flying out of town on Tuesday and flying home the following Tuesday. :/

 

How hard was this to get to the DSM? Any tips?

 

If you’re going as far as getting spring compressors you might as well just bite the bullet and get the 5100s with new springs already installed. Headstrong Offroad could probably get them assembled for you plus the parts cost for less than $500. It’s only about $375 for the parts alone.

 

He’s not wrong. He also didn’t go on repeatedly about the link and blah blah blah... so not really that big of a deal unless a mod says something. Who, if I remember correctly, are responsible policing threads.

 

I got mine last year in August and I haven't have time to install it. Been working out of town and my taco is sitting in the garage, along with the 885 springs & 5100 billies preasembled. I don't know much about suspensions, so here is a question. Are the shocks wearing out like if there were installed in the truck or are they considered new?

 

They'd be new to me!
