Decided to put bed stiffeners in after noticing some gaps. Got one side in after having to use the impact wrench, but I CAN'T get the body bolt off the other side. Ive tried 2 different impacts & a breaker bar. Ive carefully heated it up & NADA. Now its starting to strip. I sprayed an entire can of wd40 on it to let soak over night.
    Any other suggestions?
Gana swing by Schwabs tomorrow to see if they can get their big impact to shake it loose.

PS- I should have done stiffeners sooner. I was surprised how muvh the one side sucked in.

Post a picture. Have no idea what bolt you are referencing. Some time you just break the bastard off, drill it out and retap.

Spray the living daylights out of the threads underneath. Then put a breaker bar and a piece of pipe on the torx bit. Work it back and forth. At 1st, it won't feel like it's moving. Keep doing it. Eventually it will start moving. Keep going back and forth. After about 20 minutes of that, it will come out.

Man, tried that. Its hard to keep enough downward pressure on the torx bit. Especially when I lengthen out the breaker bar w/ a pipe.

I spraved where the bolt connects with the welded in nut & right below bed where the bolt first comes through.

Are you talking about one of the bed bolts that hold the bed to the frame?

If so, just be careful as those bolts fit in a “well”, so there is the bolt head, a washer, then about 2 inches of exposed bolt shaft in a “well” before the bolt passes through the bed and into the frame.

One of my bolts was stuck and I broke it trying to remove it with a cheater bar. Royal PITA. The “well” holds water under the washer and the bolt shaft just sits in it rusting at that point.

I don’t have much advice other than impact wrench and left hand drill bits to remove the broken bolt if it fails.

WD40 is one if not the worst penetrating oil to use. The best is a homemade 50/50 mix of acetone and transmission oil if available. If not, the next best available off the shelf is liquid wrench. I would try soaking with one of these 2 items and try again.

Anyone have better luck w/ PB blaster or any other penetration spray.
So far, just used wd-40 & swear words.

Pb Blaster is pretty good. You can find it and will do a great job if you let it soak some.

Kroil is what I break out when I'm afraid of breaking stuff.

That’s because wd40 is not a penetrate oil.
