Will install mine at some point this week :D

Couple to-do items before it goes on:
-Go ahead and apply seam sealer
-fill in the front bed gaps with window weld
    -install a tailgate seal
-somehow figure out how to sew in magnets to the rear flap like @SpeySquatch did
-cut and install small strip of vinyl on the top of the tailgate to prevent abrasion from the rear flap

Loving it so far. Installed in the dark after working a 14 hour shift.

Just bringing this up one more time for those that like cruising with the back rolled up and open... These slide right on and have stayed put. Peace of mind don't want that bar launching out

So I was under the assumption that the 3rd gen came with a straight rear window bar.

I got mine installed today and it has the curved rear bar

    Still fits fine, not complaining.

Mine is straight. I have a longbed if that makes a difference.

I have the curved bar. I think the mounting hardware is better with the curved bar vs the straight bar.

The curved bar buckles into a metal bracket. I believe the straight bar is just held on by a plastic mounting bracket.

    Could be wrong though.

I think i just realized my softopper is missing something... after 7 months of ownership. All i got in the box was two small (about 12") metal bars. There was no long bar, or curved bar. one of the small bars fell out, so I went and bought a wooden dowel. cut it to fit and I haven't looked back. but damn, i feel like I should call softopper and tell them lol.

I was under the impression that 2nd gens were straight and 3rd gens were curved. I'm 2nd gen and have a straight bar

for the ones who sleep in their bed/topper how are you supposed to close it from the inside so insects don’t get in? Also is it necessary to get the optional mesh back window? Sleeping in the back of my bed will be it’s primary if not only use. Thanks in advance

The zipper. Will just leaving the flap down keep bugs out?
