you sure the t case isnt stuck internally? ive had to replace cases at work because of them failing internally

 

Agreed. I love the improvements as far as the engines and little features here and there like the bed outlet, but the size is the only turn off for me

 

put the truck in 4wd and see if your front drive shaft spins. if it does then the t case is fine

 

they feel more car like to me. i like the feel of the 1st gen. feels like a truck. same with the 1st gen tundra. yea its more comfortable than the tacos. but they still feel like an old truck

 

oh they never offered that setup in first gens??

 

Double cabs only came with automatic trans on 1st gens...at least in the US.

The hilux model probably had a manual option

Have you checked to make sure the pawl on the actuator can physically push the limit switches, might've worn down

Can you show me how you locked your RTT?

 

Locked it? You mean how I keep it secured against theft? I have a 30ft steel cable wrapped around it on all 4 sides through my bed rack, spare tire and hi lift...they'd have to cut the cable or lock, or unbolt the bed rack and somehow lift all that stuff off together lol.

I can grab you a pic tomorrow when its light out

 

Yeah i highly doubt there ever was lol. I know of a few but they were manual swaps

 

My LC was the same way, but mine was all limit switch failures. Making it work freed em up and I replaced one limit switch. When I first got it, it didn't know when you put it in low so it wouldn't change shift point and would even go into overdrive haha. It also wouldn't lock the center diff and you'd get AWD Lo

 

if you ever see one, its been swapped. toyota was nice enough to make it fairly easy.

whenever i find a rotted double cab to put on the spare frame, it'll be a manual swapped double cab Frankenstein
